We NEED to recruit for need. Not for abundance of ageing, slowing, and becoming more injury prone. The strategy is literally in their kiber pass.

If ever a prop played for stats over outcome , its marty. He got to a point in his career and just played all the soft stats. Its a culture thats haunted us IMO

100% jbb, Toopoo as they call him up here is the Broncos 2nd or 3rd man in the tackle specialist. Very rarely does he make a one on one tackle, if forced to do one, he'd probably shoot his arm up to come off.

The really regrettable part is that he was with M-W for so long, with over 150 first grade games at Manly under his belt.

To think he is bracketed (games wise) with the likes of true Manly champions like Ian Martin or Tom Mooney, is galling.

When Arthurson (or his immediate successors, up to and including Frank Stanton) was club secretary, the then equivalent of a ‘Marty Tapau-type’ at best might have lasted 2-3 seasons in a Manly jumper, not seven.

A modern day Terry Randall he ain’t.

Okay, so we don't have a test player or Origin player we have signed, however, there are two young players who have immense potential and are just looking for an opportunity.and an old head who could be dominant.

D'Jazirhae Pua'Avase is a potential talent, and the only reason he hasn't featured in first grade at the Cowboys is because of the talent ahead of him. He's a 'Big Boy' and obviously is jut looking for an opportunity.

If Siua Taukei'aho meets his past potential, we have a great front row, which is now missing Lodge.

Patolo has immense talent and has just been cruelled by injuries.If he can remain healthy, he could be a massive addition.

I think you may all be surprised, at least I hope so.

Can't say I have any insight but Cowboys fans seems fairly indifferent to Pua'Avase leaving.

If he breaks out great but I'm not putting great expectations on him.

There has been minimal movement on the recruitment front at Manly, but Siosiua Taukeiaho is a strong purchase - if he still has some of his premiership-winning flair in him. The prop won a competition with the Roosters before moving overseas, and at 32 is set to become the leader of the Sea Eagles pack - something they have missed in recent seasons. Matt Lodge is unlikely to remain at Brookvale, but the former Tongan international will bring a wealth of professionalism and experience to emerging props Taniela Paseka and Toafofoa Sipley.

Other key recruits - Jazz Tevaga, Joey Walsh
