2025 recruitment & retention

He’s exactly what we need and at 31, has a couple of decent years left in him. One of the big upsides is his ability to offload, which Manly could use as a point of difference to what we already have. I just can’t see it happening though.

Yeah unless we can offload someone he will want too much coin.

Will be interesting, he's not staying at Parra, burnt the Dragons, the Broncos pulled the pin.
Is his sticking point length of contract ( 3 years) or price tag?
Something has to give somewhere soon.

Something will give at the Roosters or Canterbury, you can be sure of that.
Have you got any idea of what he’s worth? Dogs have signed Sitili Tupinua from the Chooks I can’t see how he would fit in the salary cap, depends what happens with a certain player though, Manly would be a more likely contender in my view

Gus is pretty savvy. You can bet Ryan Sutton who is on 800k and played one game in two years will end up medically retired or on a plane back to England.

Can we afford to offer him 3 years at $500k with the Eels paying most of the freight of $775k for 2025 🤔

I don’t think 3 years is too risky with RCG as he’s rarely out injured & is still close to prime (IMO).

You calling him savvy for signing that ridiculous contract in the first place?
Savvy and perfect are two different concepts. He’s won comps and Origin as a coach, built an incredible junior pathways program that led to 3 consecutive premierships at the Panthers and now has the Dogs in the finals for the first time in 8 years. I reckon he might know a thing or two about footy.

More of a prop or lock these days.

Or an edge back rower.

Can play hooker at a pinch.
I think he will be a very handy bench player as he is quite versatile which is needed after loosing Lawton.
I think he will play 14 for us where his initial role would be a middle with mobility and leg speed off the bench but can also spell Croker if he needs to come off at 9 or even Burbo at 12 if he needs to go centre for an injury in outside backs.
I can see him adding more value than Gordy at 14 especially as Croker is used to playing longer minutes.
Also unfortunately can't see lodge getting a contract as it looks like we don't have the cap space for him

And the best part, it's a 1yr deal. So, if his form goes South, won't be much of a big deal. But I'm sure this wont be the case with Jazz tho.

Here's a source.

(Not saying ...you know...people posting singings without sources can't be believed...and this source is from fox....anyway...get stuffed!)

PS: Also mentions chee-Kam

Manly have secured the services of experienced former Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga in a welcomed boost to their pack.

A News Corp report confirmed the 29-year-old has signed with Sea Eagles on a one-year deal for 2025.

It is understood Tevaga met with Manly coach Anthony Seibold this week to nut out his contract as he looks for a fresh opportunity on the northern beaches.

He will provide some punch to a Manly unit already boasting big guns Taniela Paseka, Haumole Olakau’atu and Josh Aloiai, while Sea Eagles enforcer Matt Lodge remains unsigned for 2025.

Tevaga played 138 games for the Warriors after debuting for the club in 2016 and has featured in five Tests for Samoa.

Meanwhile, Sydney utility Michael Chee-Kam is also expected to join Manly next season on a supplementary contract for 2025.

Tevaga will look to fill the void of Sea Eagles firebrand Karl Lawnton (not ge's spelling of Lawton) who will join the Cowboys next year.
