I don’t think you pay players more on what they have achieved, Nate Myles was a prime example of that.

With the way the game is played now, Jake is doing well with his current remuneration 950K, look at the best middle forwards and see where Jake sits, 500K would be a bit low come contract renewal, though anything over 700K he would be doing well.

Yes he is. Stefano is young and has a load of potential. And if u didn't hear the news Stefano is going elsewhere for less money so it wouldn't even be half. I love Jake but I think some people need to take their manly goggles off. I know it can be hard

Look don't get me wrong when I say this, because I honestly do love Jake. But Jake is the captain of NSW because he is a stand up guy and what he brings to the team, not the teams performance. It's why he only plays 1 stint for 20 mins a game, barring the game we had won by halftime. I'm sorry, but it is what it is. Jake is a tackle bot these days, he doesn't add any impact to other facets of the game. There have been plenty ober the years and none have been able to demand close to 750k. I don't even know if jake will be in the origin team next year? Like I can't confidently say he will be. I hope he is.. but I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't. On another note, Stefano is hardly an average first grader. Let's see how he goes next year in a new team and re evaluate this comment next year

I think Navale should garner more minutes so I think a young mobile prop to add to that mix or a mobile solid depth prop works a treat. We'd all love a big name but that was no dice one Aloiai resigned.

I dont mind Wadell but I'd like to see him as 5th option. Bring in one starter and one young talent ideally.

I think the back 5/6 issue could rear its head but IMO not for next year. Come 2026 we may see movement.

I would err on the side of being proactive in managing the back 5/6. Things move quickly in this game if we are not careful. If there are takers for some players at full freight, you’d have to consider it.

Also, im not sure how much Parker is on but he might take a few years in England if on offer.

Ethan Roberts is the one from the Rorters that is a good footballer, injury has held him back this season, not signed on for next year.

Was the pick of the junior backrowers last season and earned him a development deal.

Not a go at you, but Waddell has played 111 first grade games, he is by definition a first grader.

But yes, I agree he should not be a regular in our 17, as stated would like him as about a 5th 2rf option

Alioia when he signed on originally was 650K, not sure on the remuneration with the extension.

In this specific case with Alioia I don’t think his extension was necessary, if he extended for 650K the club could have the funds to go after Utoikamanu or another mid range front rower, Alioia has had multiple injuries and hasn’t had the consistency in his game to warrant the extension in my opinion.

There are some good players off contract next season, Willison as an example would be a good one to go after with 500-600 a season.

I don’t think we really need a winger but To’o is apparently being shopped around. He is clearly the best winger in the comp & we would have some spare money from Schuster so will be interesting to see if we are 1 of the teams in the hunt. I agree with the people saying a 2nd row/lock signing is more important but To’o is so powerful with his runs it would basically be like signing a forward too when it comes to metres made

He would transform us from also rans to contenders in my opinion.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we look to offload Garrick before the start of next season. We have both Hoppa and Talau on good value deals who will look for upgrades, and in fairness, they have outshone Garrick this year. The club might also be questioning the value of Koula’s deal…

Agree. No chance he is going anywhere. Great clubman, versatile and is improving every game at Centre.

Problem will be whether he wants to relocate over to Aus. Maybe if he’s given a 1 year deal to inspire him but then would he want to pack everything up for just a 1 year contract? He’s gone off the boil the last 18 months so you wouldn’t want to offer anything more

He said he is ready for a fresh start on the podcast so I think he wants to keep his NRL career going in Aus but yea I agree 2 years max on low money
