We cannot afford to rely on Turbo in a critical spine position, regardless of how much or how little we have to pay. Even if he was free, it doesn’t solve the real issue of him being unreliable and disrupting spine cohesion. That is the critical aspect IMO
Yeah the lack of continuity has certainly been an issue. Because of Lehi we probably coped better with Turbos out this year than the past 5 years. But you make a fair point.

Ok, at this point, do the owners want to be actively involved or not? If yes, then talk to the coaches and ask what we need. Then go out and throw the kitchen sink at them to play with us.. simple yeah?

Looks like we're hunting for a Hooker. Paix from the Bronco's allegedly turned us down a few times.
Possibly before the Simpkins signing?

Once seen as the future No.9 of the Broncos, Paix has fallen behind Billy Walters, Blake Mozer and Tyson Smoothy in the pecking order and is highly likely not to be offered a contract extension at the end of next season.

While the club would be happy to see him depart, it was recently reported that he has continually turned down offers from multiple Sydney clubs such as the Manly Sea Eagles and overseas teams in the Super League competition.

when he was playing firsts for the Broncs it was usually from the bench. Always thought he never really got his chance to show what he had. More your tough hooker than the creative type.

There are two types of forwards in my opinion.

Box A - Power forwards (strength)
James, Condon, B. Trbojevic, J. Trbojevic, Bullemor, Olakau'atu, Aloiai, Lodge, Brown, Paseka, Sipley, Tevanga

Box B - Agile forwards (agility, skill)
Navale, Lawton (leaving), Waddell, Arthur (possibly)

In my view, we need to balance these up a little more (and I'm in no way questioning the ability of any player here). Pick the absolute best out of Box A, replace the others with some newer Box B types.

Keeps for mine: Bullemor, Olakau'atu, Aloiai, Paseka, Navale, Arthur.

We also need a new Hooker. Croker has win just 47-48% of his games (121) playing Hooker with us. Very small sample size admittedly (6), Simpkin has won 67%.

Therefore, given the above, I'm going:

08. Taniela Paseka
09. Jake Simpkin
10. Ethan Bullemor
11. Haumole Olakau'atu
12.
13. Caleb Navale

14. Jake Arthur
15. Josh Aloiai
16.
17.

Fill in the rest with who you please. But again, we need 2024-2025 prototype forwards. Not the days of past slower, power, lumbering types.

* Given his foot injury, I'm unsure if The Knights / Arthur thing went through - anyone else?

If we could get Arthur to fill out a bit there is no reason why he couldn’t become a Yeo type 13. Heres hoping 🤞

Anyone with any insight into this D’Jazirhae Pua’Avase? DT called him a backrower, but I can only ever find him listed as playing as prop, or from the bench.

Moving on Paulo and getting a forward is good business on paper. Parker and condon leaving. While not setting the world on fire in recruits our offloads have mostly been on point.

The fainus are contentious . Not sure about how i feel about lawman, depends who fills the spot i suppose
