Here is a profile of the other Jack Williams:

Thanks, that helps. I had mistakenly assumed a pharmacists mate was like a fishermans friend, but loaded with strong painkillers.

The ideal and realistic signing would be Euan Aitken. A hard working left edge back rower with plenty of experience and is off contract for the 2025 season

Along with Shoe, I reckon the club had high hopes for Dean Matterson on that left edge. Add Scorpio in that mix. Matto still could be the real winner of that 3. If the shoe tells us something. Club see a ball playing lock as a good fit on that left edge. Matto ticks both boxes.

It's an odd one. He's really regressed this year. Gone from play NRL and some very solid games at that top level last year, to not even being a certain starter in ressies in 24. Injury?Given hes set to get promoted to top 30 next year will be interesting to monitor that one.

A few injuries didn’t help Dean, though he hasn’t done enough to get a chance as an edge this season, I watched his brother against the Panthers he had a good game playing in the middle, 182 run meters and 28 tackles with one miss (96.4% tackle efficiency), I think he is one to go after (450-500K), still a lot of good football left in him and goes good on an edge.

Not getting any younger and think he sometimes lumbers around but always seem to get through a good bit of work, would help with our second phase footy as a offload threat too. Also think Matto would give Brooks someone who can bend the line on that left hand side as well and improve the versatility within the squad.

As the market currently stands i’d be targeting both Matterson and Jack Williams who had a really nice game at 13 for the Sharks this week.

Matterson would be good on the right package/deal/incentivisation with his brothers career and a last chance saloon chat with Nathan Brown. An actual stand out player. He and Chee Kam will do. Find someone to take aloiai and a good prop.

Definitely if Brooks had that experienced backrower outside of him as an option would be a huge factor in his game going another level, DCE has been blessed with Guaca there, Matterson has a good offload in him also.

No idea why we can’t play Navale as a middle forward next year, no one talks of that. Strong player, great leg speed and good defence. Shown good signs this year with limited time on the field. Another pre season under his belt and I reckon he would do well off the bench as a middle for us.

Navale looks, to me anyway, to be the prototype middle for the modern game, along with Bullemore.

Fast, mobile, decent laterally, etc.

There will always be a place for the real big battering ram men, like NAS and RCG, just need less of them per 30 man squad.

Until they change the rules again, hard to have a balanced roster with constant rule changes, Manly had a good balance in 2020 until post covid rule changes with the six again etc…

We can have no confidence the NRL won't change again any give Tuesday either. Such is their change on the run mentality.

NRL won't want to take all the big blokes out of the game. But it is what the 6 again has done.

We might not even get an announcement, just see less of those non challengeable, will never to be scrutinized 6 again decisions.

A teams roster just has to cater for all occasions.

Apparently RCG has been granted a leave pass from the sinking ship, the HMAS Parramatta.
He was a top prop but has been down on form this season, not that he is the only poor performer in that crew. He's reported to be on $800,000 a season, which is ridiculous until you remember that The Shoe was getting the same salary.
Personally, I'd give him a call. See if he'd be interested in moving to the bright side. We need another good prop. But I'd baulk at having to pay him anymore than $500,000 pa.
