2025 recruitment & retention

So back to recruitment and retention…. I think it’s time for our Ponga / Suali moment .. where we pay ‘overs’ for a highly touted youngster / punt on them… for mine. That Blake Mozer is the one. 20yrs old. Crisp as passing game. Broncs will try and get him for next to nothing. We need a hooker that can turn a game..

Mozer would be fantastic but the Broncos won't let him go without a fight.

He is also the grandson of this Joe Walsh, formerly of the Eagles:

Ok, so I made that one up.
What do you mean "formally", Terry?

As far as I know, he is still a part of the Eagles who are going to do a heap of concerts at The Sphere in Vegas between September and December as a part of their farewell 'The Long Goodbye Tour'.

I have been to each of their concert tours of Australia since they reformed back in 1994 and I just wish that they would bring their farewell tour down to Australia but I doubt very much that they will be back.

Lehi is outstanding. The club told us just today he extended for three years recently.

Today was the first time I saw Navale, and I have to say, he's very impressive.

I don't care what or how this happens, Siebold, make sure Humphreys reneges on that rubbish bunnies contract. He's DCE's under study, capice !!

Any chance of Tuitavake and/or Fifita back in the maroon and white. Not setting the world on fire at Dragons (according to their fans) so may be good squad additions. I guess it also depends on who their manager is.

I'd immediately take both. I think the emergence of Hoppa, Humphreys & Navale shows the way of the future. We need to invest in youth. Simpkin (22) looks very bloody good too (so credit here to be fair to recruitment and retention as well). Talau is only 24 (another win).

Not a huge Eagles fan, but I do like a number of their hits. By far my favourite song of theirs is ‘The Last Resort’. Even more pertinent today than it was back in 1976.

Also I really like some of their solo work, like Joe’s ‘Life’s Been Good’ and Don Henley’s mid-80s hits ‘The Boys of Summer’ and ‘Sunset Grill’.

For those that have been constantly bagging our recruitment. Im sure there will be a few surprises next year. 3 of the top ten for this season.

I think both Brown and Talau have performed more than Brooks this season.

Wighton hasn’t done much for the Vermin,

The club let them go. They haven’t even made a single appearance for their new club, and you wanna bring them back? Wow! Samuela Fainu has earned that consideration. The other two are just fantasising at this point.

I think that is the problem …he doesn’t want to be anyone’s understudy.

Jamie Humphrey's has even more competition at Manly than DCE.

Jake Arthur our ball boy for our Manly 2013 GF appearance.

He backed it up and ran onto the field again on GF day for the Eels loss in 2023.

That's some lived experience.

It will be very fitting if he runs out on GF day wearing the Manly jersey soon enough. I'm already having flash backs of Jamie Buhrer as a kid wearing a pepsi jersey. But 3rd time lucky Jake, those scars only make you stronger for victory.
