Teenage cross-code sensation Joseph Suaalii is set to become the youngest millionaire in rugby league history.

On Sunday,The Daily Telegraph reported Suaalii will sign a four-year contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs worth $2 million.

The 16-year-old will therefore earn $500,000 a season, and has been tipped to eventually replace Latrell Mitchell at fullback for the Rabbitohs.

The Olympics' postponement has given rugby fresh hope the sport can win an against-the-odds battle with rugby league for the signature of teen prodigy Joseph Suaalii.

As a 16-year-old year 11 student of The King's School, Suaalii would have been too young to play sevens for Australia at the Tokyo Games this year.

Rugby Australia needs every last carrot to dangle for Suaalii's signature over the next 12 months, particularly after the Australian Schools and Under-18s representative was the subject of a report he is poised to sign a four-year, $2 million NRL contract with South Sydney.

He is technically off limits to the Rabbitohs until his 17th birthday in August and will not be eligible to play first grade until 2021. But, with rave reviews from Wayne Bennett and Sam Burgess, talk is the deal is done.

The code's decision-makers are also mindful that the hype around Suaalii does not overshadow their keen interest in another Schools and U18s winger, Newington College's Tolu Koula, who is also straddling two codes and plays for Manly in rugby league's SG Ball Cup.

Sharks have also picked up Bryson Goodwin from the Rabbits as a mid season transfer

St George Illawarra Dragons forward Jack de Belin "could be back in the 17 straight away" if his legal team can have charges against him of aggravated sexual assault dismissed when he appears in court on Monday, according to Sydney Morning Herald Chief Sports Writer Andrew Webster.

De Belin's legal case has simmered in the background since he was initially sidelined by the NRL ahead of the 2019 season under the league's no-fault stand down policy.

However, Speaking on Nine's 100% Footy, Webster revealed De Belin could find himself back on the field in no time should his legal team manage to have the charges laid against him dropped when he faces court in coming days.

Brendan Elliott rumours started 3-4 months ago as looking to head over to Super League...getting louder again...has been very good for Manly and this next 5 - 6 weeks will decide if Manly makes a play to keep him.

The Warriors will move on Blake Green and other players managed by controversial agent Isaac Moses after the 2020 season.
Having already sacked coach Stephen Kearney in a difficult season for the club, Warriors owner Mark Robinson said he won’t stop there as he aims to reduce Moses’ impact on his squad.
