Look, if we could get another fullback who provides the same or more as Tom does then sure I wouldn't say no to him playing centre for Manly. But until then....no.
Rep footy is supposed to be the elite, class all the way across the park and as such you can afford to play Tom in the three quarters. But club football squads are dictated by the salary cap and we can't afford to also have the likes of Tedesco (not that I think he'll ever leave the Chooks).
Sterling has just said it right. Fittler has been smart enough to not keep Tom to just the right side. Like last year he's letting him roam and its giving Qld nightmares.

Halfbacks should not be there just defending unless their side doesn't have the ball. With the ball in hand Nathan Cleary has provided zero in 4 1/2 Origin games.
