Bozo's not making any signings so he can keep keep plenty of capacity in our salary cap ..................gotta have cash to be able to sign up his grandkids on long term deals!!

How about we slow down on the Pacific Islander et al recruitment (new and used) which seems to be the easy way out for many.

I'd like us to sign some young brawny farm / cattlemen footballers from out in the sticks, there has got to be a few guys champing at the bit for a go that no one is giving them. And would love a bit of sand under their feet as well.

For example a Charlie Frith type to cut the opposition in half often enough that they look twice or three times, practiced on cattle no doubt.
A Les Boyd type, the skills of Ray Brown....I'm sure they must be out there, what are our recruitment people actually doing?????

Gee, you can certainly stomach a loss much easier when half the opposing team is in hospital.

edit 2: Oh and of course then then NRL would send out the CSPU (Cameron Smith Protection Unit) to put a stop to such fun.....well it was a good idea whilst it lasted.

Basically no one of any worth at the end of 17.
But if Bozo can do another early signing (like what he did for Tapau) for a player coming off contract in 18, or from a club experiencing salary cap pressure... I'd go for Papali or jnr Paulo from the raiders... Or both.
And I'd go for Fuimaono from Souths to play centre. Looks the goods. Tough as nails.

Imagine a forward pack of Tapau, Api, Paulo, Sironen, Papali, Jurbo.

No decent players are currently off contract!!

I do like than young Newcastle backrower Fitzgibbon. I can see why bozo was after Gillette and Roberts, even Dean Whare would of been handy. Missed out on youg CWH as well! Tyrone may would be a decent long term replacement at 5/8. Off contract next year.

Still need a rep back rower and decent prop. Parker is a handy player but would like a genuine proven center as well. Maybe one of the Matautia brothers off contract? Cant beleive we didn't go after Dean Gagai??

It's not off season yet, we don't need to have signed 100 players as of this moment. They'll have a plan and will be targeting many you'd have to think

It seems to me the quality business on the quality players is done well before the off season.
The off season is where you get the homeless dreggs, players dumped by their clubs!!

Not saying it will happen this year but look at some of the off season "under contract" player signings over the past few years.
Just off the top of my head - Taupau, Walker, Gutherson (against us), Jennings.

Kelly starting the season ok, but then spending most of the year struggling in first grade is like the Walker at 5/8 experiment. Good idea in theory, but the reality is that there were better options from the start.

Brad Parker is no superstar but he showed more in two games before getting injured than Kelly has in the past 4 months.

In the past 4 months since the day Aitken made him look average at Brookvale (8 April), Kelly has only scored 2 tries - one against the Warriors in Perth, the other last week - but has let in a whole lot more. Unfortunately during the middle of the year when we were one of the form teams, his deficiencies were hidden. Since we began our slide he has been exposed to the point where even the Dogs, who couldn't score in a brothel all year, were almost crossing the line at will down our left.

As for our recruitment.....I'll admit I'm starting to get a bit worried that we're running out of time to sign anyone decent, even just for depth, as there aren't that many currently on the market. Still holding out hope we can sign someone like Klemmer though.
