2018 OUTLOOK: MANLY SEA EAGLES

The commentary looked reasonable until he picked Dylan Walker to start the season, then all credibility went out the window. I say Barrett will brain them this year, our unheralded but highly talented pool of reserves will end up shooting us to the next level. Confident prediction* of grand final, at least.

*My predictions have not always been correct in the past, but probably will be from here on

Manly Sea Eagles

  • Jorge Taufua (knee, round 1)
  • Jake Trbojevic (pectoral, round 1)
  • Dylan Walker (leg/ankle, round 5)
  • Johnathan Wright (finger, fit trials)
Jake Trbojevic is expected to be fit for the kick-off to 2018 after tearing his pectoral muscle playing for Australia in the World Cup. Dylan Walker will miss up to the first month of the season after breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle in a Prime Minister's XIII clash against PNG in September. Walker also had an off-season shoulder reconstruction.

Never ceases to sent me into floor rolling with much joviality, when I read some summations made by so called experts regarding Manly's chances in '18

Take Zero Tackle for example. Does this character even look at the teams he/she assesses.

Sees Manly slipping back to 10th but there's much vagueness as to why this will happen. Somehow thinks Manly will be weaker in '18 but the only negative that can be substantively identified is the loss of Blake Green. Claims Manly will have poor back up reserves, claims their forwards cant match several of the big sides etc etc etc.

The way I see it 5/8 is Manly's only question mark. Otherwise the team has built up since last year especially with its reserves. Their forwards outperformed several of these 'top' clubs with ease last year. He make us 'petering out' at the end of last year but his only example is Manly's loss to Penrith in the semi. But this is supposed to support Manly failing this year

Manly have lost only one serious player in Green and have added several young and strong potential players to the pack. They've added a few talented backs, and then there are the rising potential stars from the 20s.

Can only see the comments of such 'experts' as Zero Tackle' as pure bias, or lazy investigations. He certainly promotes the Roosters though.

Another take on our season ahead..

Just taking an excerpt from this article one would think that @BOZO wrote this;

"taking a huge leap forward often requires an injection of fresh talent. It leaves them in a strange place: cracking the finals is great, but mediocrity is a real threat."
