Just re-sign Taufua. If it's true about Thompson, amazing. Then just acquire one more prop if salary cap allows for it, and we have a premiership quality squad full strength that matches with any in the NRL:

01. Tom Trbojevic (arguably top 3 fullback in the NRL)
02. Jorge Taufua (look how much better he made Kelly before injury)
03. Brian Kelly (hopefully those last few games showed everyone his ability)
04. Dylan Walker (If he can play to his level this year after injury, one of the top in the NRL)
05. Akuila Uate (surprise packet - they guy is a machine)
06. Blake Green (Cheap, but no frills, perfect foil for DCE)
07. Daly Cherry-Evans (excelled with Green at his side)
08. Addin Fonua-Blake (one of our most destructive forwards)
09. Apisai Koroisou (smashed it this passed season - maybe SOO in 2018?)
10. Marty Taupau (Destructive forward, popular, leader)
11. Frank Winterstein (Kept improving throughout the year)
12. Curtis Sironen (seemed to me when he played, our whole team had another gear)
13. Jake Trbojevic (Mr consistency - just an all round elite class player)

14. Lewis Brown (despite being criticised, the perfect utility, able to slot into Hooker)
15. Darcy Lussick (Could almost be a starting prop, improved as he got healthier)
16. Lloyd Perrett (Has the potential to create heaps of 2nd phase footy, young, improving)
17. Toafofoa Sipley (Pretty sure like Kelly promised first grade as the incentive to move from NZ)

I was down in Dee Why beach having breaky in a cafe with my chick 2 weeks ago. Sitting a couple tables away I've seen Pita Godinet, Jarrad Kennedy and Jorge Taufua. Considering Pita and Jarrad where both leaving the club lead me to think Jorge may be shown the door as well. May be looking to hard into it and may just be coincidence but it looked to be a serious conversation.

Because of the end of the u/20 I remember some talk of increasing the 1st grade squad numbers to 36.
Probably because the NRL can't finalise a deal with the players or could even decide on a cap figure in a reasonable time I haven't heard anymore of this.
Like everything else they do it'll take forever to let anyone know.

Bainbridge should be re-signed ASAP, kid debuted at 18 and looked pretty solid this year at 19. Only reason i can think of is this injury has already cut short his career and the club know this which would suck big hairy ones. Given they made a song and dance over his last signing i am really worried for him.

30 plus 6 development/rookie contracts at $60K each(maximium of $360K).We have 26 I think plus Wright,Fainu and Funa on rookie contracts(not sure if Wright is in the 30 or on development/rookie contract though...).Club is looking to re-sign Tanginoa and that leaves 3 (2 if Wright is in 30)with Hopoate,J.Lussick,Bainbridge,Schuster,Price (maybe Amone too?)battling for last positions unless someone else is in the picture.Would guess that Anderson,Cust,Olakau'atu,Martin would be next in line for the remaining rookie contracts.
