That's right. After a tough 2-0 win in Nashville, the Pens took out game 6 giving them an unassailable 4-2 lead in the best of seven series.

The second goal was an empty net goal with about 15 seconds to go.

Nashville had their chances and the papers and fans will all go off about a disallowed try earlier in the game, and rightly so.

Basically...Nashville took a shot, it rebounded off the goalie and was tapped in. However the ref said he 'intended' to blow the whistle (thinking the goalie had caught the puck) and so the goal was disallowed.

It was a terrible decision. Even Pittsburgh fans accept that it should have been a goal but it was one of those irreversible decisions.

Nashville had their chances though. They had 2 clear break-aways, one shot off the post, one missing by millimetres and got all 4 of the games penalties.

In fact for 35 seconds they had a 5 on 3 man advantage but still couldn't capitalise and score.

So the Pens become the first team since Detroit to go back to back in 1997-1998.

Thanks to the few of you who read though these hockey threads. It's much appreciated.

May our teams all get to the finals next year! *cough Canucks cough*

My disgust for ****tsburg must never be underestimated. Let's hope this is their last Stanley Cup.

I'd settle for a Canadian team to actually win the cup for a change.

It's been years!

Well....

Not Toronto (obviously)
Nor Calgary - too much rivalry
Edmonton continue to lose is good (though McDavid is fixing that)
The Habs....they've won too many already

Maybe either the Sens, jets.....or CANUCKS!!!!!
