It’s 13 years ago and I can’t remember the exact circumstances at the time but this year , and the end to it feels very “ 2006 like”.

Common themes are,

*Rebuilding year

*Much better performance than expected

*Late season injuries

*Made finals but fell ( or likely to) at the first hurdle

I reckon this will put us in good stead for 2020/21.

2017 we had rubbish defense. Up till last 2 weeks we had pretty good defense. Unfortunately we are gone in that dept now.

true, 2017 was based on attack and 2019 defense (shouldn't be surprised with Ballin and Monas added to the coaching roster)

While i want to agree with you
We are sitting ducks

I love this team and i think give us a few more years we are going to be very competitive

But as for next week with the injuries we now face as hard as it is to say we are just making up the numbers.

I have loved this season as it has been a taste of what is to come.

Sad how we have just gone the last 2 weeks.

I was taking the piss. Mad Max said the Broncos wouldn’t cause us any problems whatsoever if we played them in a final. I wonder if he is still as confident?

More like 2010 now. Limping into the finals with injuries, on field brain explosions in the closing round/s, plus the threat of a player or two (Glenn Stewart back then) under suspension.

The biggest differences from that year? We finished higher this year and on form will lose a final at home (to a lower placed team), rather than away at Kogarah.

On a positive note: a premiership in 2011.
