A good days play. Ponting batted well but Katich and Clark look fragile in the middle order. I still don't like the idea of playing Watson at 7 and Gilly at 6. Do we need the extra bowler when Watson is more of a fill in than a topliner.

Are we so concerned about the Ashes loss that we are trying to make another 'Freddie' rather than develop a real batsman with what we have?
