10 seconds that WON the game

Watched a replay of that gritty win over Melbourne today and felt a key 10 seconds in defence summed up the Attitude and desire that set up the win.
Firstly big Solomona from 5 metres out charges onto a ball and is stopped by a huge DCE and Winterstein defensive play just short.
Off that play ball Chambers finds space and looks certain to score until Uate holds him up in goal with a sensational tackle.
If Manly were not on, would have given up both these key plays and though at times an ugly game....Manly showed enough right here to earn the win - they showed up, gave it everything and if you do this....always a sight.

Yes, it was a bad missed tackle by Kelly, do not forget that he assisted Uate in holding up Chambers and he deserves credit for that.

Big play for sure, but personally feel defence shows the attitude and is the backbone that wins games.

Wright's try and Aku's try saver were the turning points. I think we would have won anyway, but those two moments showed that we weren't just going to go back to the Northern Beaches with our tails between our legs.

As for Kelly, sure he missed Chambers that time, but other than that he had a good game out there and has been one of our best all season.

I didn't see it that way . Kellly did not hold up Chambers . Kelly passed the ball to to Uate who had little room to score and made the most of his opportunity by denying the quick moving cover defence .

Kelly needed to be up a little quicker once he realised how much space Chambers had but Chambers overexerted himself in trying to run around him and never looked close to getting it down with some great cover from Aku. Kelly still rushed up enough to put Chambers off despite missing him

At the end of the day Kelly set a try up with one hand and we didn't concede one so...

There’s never enough kelly bashing threads for bozo. All of them are fair game to be hijacked by his crusade.

His dream is that one day baz will read this forum and go “you know what, me and most of the footy talent spotting world were wrong. This kid can’t play at all! Bozo you are right and I’m going to drop him. Thank you!” (Or at least that’s how I imagine bozo hopes this will go)

I saw Lyon get stood up enough times in his career as well but I bet you never bought those up on the forums. We can all be super selective when it suits our argument.
We all know you want Jimmy the jet as one of our centres, who got stood up nicely by latrell Mitchell(and plenty of other occassions) the other night and lead directly to a chooks try.

The thing is Kelly turns and chases hard, sure he got beaten originally- like EVERY other centre on the weekend.
The big difference is his will to turn, chase and help shut Chambers down.

Jimmy the jet had 5 missed tackles and an effective tackle percentage of only 64%. Direct hand in conceding 2-3 tries by my count. Brian is solid and this season he’s consistent too

I think due to Mitchell and Roberts scoring blistering tries, ppl tend to overlook their shocking defensive plays.
Almost U10’s where the fast kid just wants to score tries and thinks tackle is what you use to go fishing.

Anybody that calls Kelly "a stain on the Manly Jersey" like that arrsehole Bozo did .... has effectively disqualified themselves from any further intelligent discussion on the topic .....
