Whatever he agrees to at the Roosters, it will be well supported with third party agreements to limit the clubs actual salary cap outlay.

Why I Think Manly Will Never Compete Long-Term Again

The salary cap era has been replaced by the third party agreements. It is a scourge on the game as it really relies on the ingenuity & network of the owners. Politis is the king when it comes to third party persuasion.

Poll can you trust bloody humans?

You are damned if you do & damned if you don't these days. I say maintain the good manners & consideration shown for others & consign the eye rollers to the 'who cares' pile.

    Tallyn Da Silva

Can't imagine why a great young prospect would put his career in the hands of a club in turmoil with a coach whose future is uncertain. In better times yes, but not now.

    [Resurrected] Josh Schuster

When someone needs help, nothing else matters other than the support & care of both those close to the individual, & those who are aware of their struggles. Just like other illnesses that knock some around more than others, the last thing anyone in this situation needs is ill-considered...

    Post-Game Discussion Titans V Manly [Round 15, 2025]

We have a pack that commands no respect, we couldn't score a point in the second half against wooden spoon favourites & we were almost at full strength against an under strength wooden spoon favourite. That about sums up the squad at the moment.

Game Day: Titans V Manly [Round 15, 2025]

A defensively inept performance so far. Shocking missed tackles performed like a light training run. If their contracts were performance based most would be on social security!

    Passion for the club

Kiwi Eagle, re your last paragraph. I know exactly how you feel. I've been a supporter since 1972 & had never waivered in my support or advocacy for the club & its personnel. In recent years I have struggled to garner that same passion regardless of a win, draw or loss. Something needs to change.

The Actual 18th Team: Perth Bears

Perhaps we are more in short supply of results producing coaches than players?

The Actual 18th Team: Perth Bears

Agree. And his successor will need to be that proven winner that Mal at club level, wasn't.

The Actual 18th Team: Perth Bears

The appointment of Meninga as the initial Bears coach is a major mistake on the NRL's part. He hasn't coached club football for ages & when he did, was not successful in any significant way. With respect, coaching the Australian team is a very different scenario to establishing a new club. The...

If Gus told you the sun rose in the east you would need to see it for yourself to make sure it was true. What he says & what he does are purely controlled by self-interest. Good administrator but don't rely upon him for the truth.

    Mainly ain't Manly anymore

Agree. Contrast Penn with the passion & involvement of Politis at the Roosters. He seems to be involved in all that happens at that club (irrespective of whether you like him or not), where as Penn appears as mostly 'the owner' & nothing more. Seems to only make an occasional cameo appearance in...

    MVP: Rd 12 v Eels

That was a listless effort from the sea eagles with much of the play looking like casual training drills. Tommy looked like he is running at about 80%. Again, I see no improvement from last year under Seibold.

[Resurrected] Hasler named Titans coach after shock Holbrook exit

Despite his innovative moments over his career, he does seem to be lacking the the 'edge' that stands some coaches above others in todays game. Doesn't look like it will be a happy ending any time soon.

    Best Coaches Of All Time

Agree. I think his greatest trait is that he can take an average player & get the best from the (e.g. Nick Meaney). But he couldn't get the magic working for NSW & he hasn't tested himself at a range of clubs to demonstrate his ability to replicate his Storm success. Great coach though in what...

    The Elephant in the room

Above & beyond anything, these questions have to be asked. The decline has been dreadful & our captain appears more of a passenger as opposed to the steering force he has been in the past. At the moment our season appears to be in freefall with no visible signs of recovery. The players heads...

    Forceful contact

And now after 5 games & a number of shoulder & forearm to head contacts, still no sin bins. It makes last weeks 'blitz' look ridiculous.

I'm impressed that the Tigers players have stood up to protect their season (what ever it turns out to be) & that the club has done the same as Bennett did with Hodges. By his own admission, Marshall can't add anything to his development so why waste time on him. There are some things you just...

    Spencer Leniu

The very same ill disciplined mouth that got him in to trouble in the USA. He is an unprofessional boofhead who unfortunately has little self control. CH9 need to lodge a formal complaint as a broadcaster. The game has suffered a blackeye due to this dope & as much as he feels he is justified in...
