Insurance will not cover if there is any suggestion of negligence on the part of the coaching staff. There are several high profile "no win-no fee" lawyers out there who would take the gamble on this and represent Lloyd. Given what's happened at the club and given how hard NRL players are...

Class Action??? Now that might just entice our owners to sell up and (please) move on!!!

    Siosiua Taukeiaho

He may well be over the Achilles injury by then but I doubt very much if anywhere near match fit. Engine room going great atm. I would not tamper with that. Can only get better (barring injuries).

Very clever Wombat. Love the GHOAT!!! Time will tell. I think his Dad might still have the inside running....only by a finger!!!

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Not sure it was a case of too much patience. More a case of no Simpkin and only 3 left on the bench. Jaz has been very good for us but he is not an attacking hooker. Makes the win even sweeter.

    Jake Simpkin signed until 2026

We definitely missed him in that 2nd half on the weekend. Am sure we would have scored a few more points had he been there. Also deprived us of a full bench. The rule needs to change regarding foul play. NAS should have gone off irrespective of being sin binned....or not.

    Siosiua Taukeiaho

Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Sio will be extended and probably for 2 years. If Matt Lodge continues with his form, I think he will be in the same boat. What's the price of two premiership winning props???

    Siosiua Taukeiaho

Yes it's a massive influence in any big game. Lodge played well also and not far behind TKO so having both guys lead the way for us will be invaluable over next few weeks. One of the main reasons I am optimistic about our chances going forward. We saw the impact of an experienced prop recently...

    Jason Saab

Lets agree to disagree. I don't think he is playing well at all. Watch the game again as there were 3 tries scored down his wing. The first one was when he ran out of the line to take the Melbourne centre and leave Coates wide open to score. The 2nd one yes i agree he was there chasing in the...

So do you think he is playing well atm?

    Jason Saab

Is Saaby injured?? I thought he was MIA last night. He was nowhere to be seen when Coates scored his last try. Actually Reuben from the other wing was the only one chasing (and almost caught ) Coates. That's 3 tries down Saaby wing!!! He had a couple of good opportunities from Tom but looked...

    Ethan Bullemor

I thought by his normal standards he was quiet last night. Gearing up for a big one against the dogs???

    Siosiua Taukeiaho

Both Lodge and Sio have been terrific for us last few games. I don't think either have hit their ceiling. With more fitness and no injuries over next 7 weeks they will only get better. Love to see both of them run out for us in the GF. We just got to get there!!!

Does anyone else find it bonkers that we are 1 win away from 5th?

Anyone's guess atm. I think we are a genuine chance of knocking over both the Storm and Dogs. Love Tom at centre and Garrick back to his rightful wing position. Also really like what I have seen last few weeks from our engine room (Lodge, Sio, Sips, Bully and Jaz). Hell even Jake seems to have...

Yes there are several ways Al you could cut the deal with him. Contracts at NRL are about as rigid as they are flexible. Where there is a will there is always a way. Many examples and legal precedents. The latest example is the Galvin fiasco. Last example from Manly was when we "released" AFB...

    Lehi the 1 Turbo centre

I think the 27 and 28 extension is an easy negotiation. The challenge will be to address the current existing 26 contract tenure at $1.2m. If I was advising the club and Turbo I would be proposing a reduction in the existing 26 deal and offset against a +2 year extension beyond that 26 year. So...

    Lehi the 1 Turbo centre

I think that is likely going to be the magic number..... but over 3 years and incorporating 26. So under this deal the club would get an immediate $500k cap relief next year and Turbo picks up an additional 2 year tenure beyond his existing 26 contract term. How he goes in the centres for the...

    Lehi the 1 Turbo centre

Definitely looking much more solid and far less fragile out in the centre. Will only get better and I think less prone to injury given the less mileage to cover. Smart move.

Why I Think Manly Will Never Compete Long-Term Again

Yes would be nice Isz if we had a more benevolent benefactor to sweeten the 3rd party pot(s). But sadly I don't think that is or will be the case in the short / intermediate term. Even more reason we have to be a lot smarter with our available funds and recruitment decisions.

Why I Think Manly Will Never Compete Long-Term Again

Agreed. That however has nothing to do with overall funding or owner investment. More to do with the quality of our management, coaching and decision making. Just like in corporate land, there are smart organisations....and the not-so-smart. We have tended to gravitate towards the latter...
