    Manly playmaking 13

In the black and white era: There is footage of Arko that I have seen that shows him being pretty handy, a live wire. I will try and find it. Frank Stanton, moved between centre and the halves. Wally o’Connell.

    The Send off rule

I agree up to a point, but Walsh had already passed the ball. It was late, high and reckless. I have watched Suaalii a bit over the last year, he is pretty dirty, and tries to be a “tough guy”. He made a really dangerous situation with that tackle, even if Walsh didn’t slip it was still outrageous.

    Kaeo Weekes

Weekes and Koula were the standouts of that manly junior team. Kaeo was always going to succeed. Timing was wrong at manly, but it is no surprise to see him ice games. I held my head in despair when he kicked the early tackle chip for the cotric try against manly a few weeks ago. He just...

    Latu Fainu

Tigers paid grown-up money to latu, feledy etc. promising teenagers not ready for first grade, and now they’re upset? And the now mature Talau is performing well at manly. Crazy bad management at tigers.

    Lehi Hopoate

He’s not your typical big bopping hoppa, he’s skinny and smooth in his play. He’s more a ridge type of player, not an eadie, turbo or Stewart. Really interesting set of skills, unhurried. He will only get bigger and better.

Would you be unhappy to see The Bunker scraped?

Would scraping it achieve anything? But seriously, no it shouldn't be scrapped. It mostly gets it right. It was absurd in the pre-bunker days when there were clear shots of legitimate tries being disallowed, or tries being awarded that shouldn't have been etc - yet the tech wasn't being used by...

    Demetriou Sacked!

Agreed. However it amazes me that S Burgess is continually referred to with respect in the game. The intimidation, coercive control, DV & drugs seem to have been swept under the carpet.

I don't think either case passes the pub test - wrestling 30 blokes, and pushing players to the limit without water both seem crazy. Writing them off as snowflakes is unreasonable.

Barrett / Cartwright coaching team that year. Who was the trainer? Ferris? Lloyd had a memorable cameo off the bench in the flogging of parra that year. A player with good skills, pity he had such a setback.

    Pre-Game Manly V Raiders [Round 9, 2024]

Ricky has named a much better team this week. The 12 year old fullback gone, replaced by Hoppa. Cotric, Guler and Whitehead back.
