[Resurrected] Is the NRL competition rigged?

That they have 'manufactured' the game in to a product & diluted the naturalness it once had, I think poses many of the questions being asked in this thread.

    The Cheese ... allegedly charged

This guy has a serious character flaw that was evident at the Storm, Roosters & now the Rabbitohs. I hope the NRL stand him down immediately as they have done with others. He is a problem child where ever he sticks his head up. Souths should cut their losses & let him go.

All NRL Games [Round 25, 2025]

How on earth did Crichton not even get a fine for his face rake on Papenhuyzen? He seems to be becoming a protected species with the MRC unwilling to hold him to account.

Mining boss offers $30m to buy Manly Sea Eagles

Whilst Penn may be the financial owner, ownership does not give him the right to neglect & destroy this once great club & its proud history that was achieved long before he came along.

Game Day: Manly V Dolphins [Round 25, 2025]

Who are these guys? I don't recognise any of them!

For those of us who live out of the city & don't get to see much of the lower grades play, what sort of a prospect is Joey Walsh? Is he as good at his age as much of the commentary would suggest? Some opinions from the members would be much appreciated to give us an incite in to this young man.

    DCE 350

The question to ponder is; Does his years of service to the club offset the damage he has done with the way he has handled his departure? Now there's a conundrum!

    Post-Game Discussion Tigers V Manly [Round 24, 2025]

I just think our overall standards have slipped beyond both those years. I don't think it has any relevance to their position on the ladder as the performances of the other teams in those years has a major bearing on where each team finishes.

    Post-Game Discussion Tigers V Manly [Round 24, 2025]

This side has progressively gone backwards each season under the current coach. There are no signs of anything strategically in place to evolve this club. The current standard being trundled out is embarrassing & reminiscent of where the Tigers fell to in recent years. The difference? They are...

    Sack Seibold Immediately

Good point. Yes, they did over react in their assessment of the impact of 2 players instead of the full squads capabilities & depth. The lack of fight & grit has been perhaps the most confronting issue of all. It wouldn't matter if they were a team of origin players; without some fight & grit in...

    Sack Seibold Immediately

Had enough of the "proud of the boys, they really had a go, I thought we were in it early in the game" rhetoric. Given they were tipped as top 4 contenders by a number of the rugby league analysts, either the journo's were wrong or a side that should have made a fight for top 4 placing have...

    BRUTAL HITS

Oh for the days when the footy was organic & not this engineered product we see today. Each game brought something unexpected & made the listening or viewing a much anticipated moment. I like my footy but I can take or leave todays coverage. I remember tape recording the Manly games with Alan...

Game Day: Manly V Chooks [Round 22, 2025]

Walker has well & truly sent DCE the message that 'I'll be playing 7 next year & you WILL be the 6!' If this is the standard we are at at this stage of the season & with what's on the line then it is a very poor reflection on the playing group. The skill & intent is appalling.

    MVP: Rd 21 v Bulldogs

Great energy in the first half that went missing in the second half. Reality was going to bite & it sure did. A personnel overhaul is sorely needed moving forward.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

That the NRL defended the Dogs decision as correct just shows how much they lack in a feel for the game. It's a manufactured product these days & has lost much of its authenticity & purity.

    Boxing

I think a farcical bout such as this discredits both individuals. Not a great thing to remember their past achievements by. Should have happened 10 years ago to give it any credibility.

    State of Origin, 2025.

One thing that stands out again is that for all his ability, Cleary struggles to dominate in Origin. Some players just don't stack up in every arena. Given Maguire stated last year he was picking on form only & got the result, I was surprised at some of Daley's selections. Despite their past...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

Our one consistency is that we are a side of 2 halves.

Whatever he agrees to at the Roosters, it will be well supported with third party agreements to limit the clubs actual salary cap outlay.

Why I Think Manly Will Never Compete Long-Term Again

The salary cap era has been replaced by the third party agreements. It is a scourge on the game as it really relies on the ingenuity & network of the owners. Politis is the king when it comes to third party persuasion.
