    I think most people see someone willing to stand down from important games as not 100% on board. If true that he has also asked for a release then there is your confirmation and I see no point in holding onto a player who doesn't want to be at the club and has shown a history of strike action.

    The alternative is we sack everyone and let a rushed in coach handle a club overhaul in 5 months? Keeping Des for the rebuild makes the most sense and I would assume he's been told its 'right the ship or ship out'.

    I put Cleary in the same mould. He’ll take the line on more and plays tougher than DCE but he goes to water when his team isn’t dominant. I’d give him a year or two until the panthers are stripped of a bit of class and he’ll come back to the pack substantially.

    The raiders are there to be beaten if anyone can put enough points on them in the first half. They really don't come out of the sheds the old green machine. If anything, I hold hope of us doing this as for the first 20 at least we seem to look like a decent team most of the time.
