Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

Just my opinion. I don't see a premiership as a thing you just suddenly win. It's something you build towards. I think a better building strategy is to allow the new halfback to settle into the club with another experienced half. Then, when Fogarty is settled, he has more capacity to lend...

    Trys or tries ?

It's to do with nouns and whether they end in consonants with a 'y' at the end or not. Given 'try' is a consonant followed 'y', you add 'ies'. If it was toy, it's a vowel followed by 'y', you just add the 's'.

Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

I think it's dangerous to have a completely new halves combination. It'll help Fogarty to settle in better if he is not helping a rookie try and learn the trade, while he himself gets used to the Manly systems. Maybe 2027 is a good time to hand the reigns over to a young star. As for Brooks...

    The Daly Cherrygraph

You've kind of answered your own question - "I really don’t get a lot of hate projected at him on the site...I am disappointed in the way DCE used the media to say he was leaving the club." That's where the hate is coming from. I agree, it doesn't need to be hate but it's not hard to 'get' why...

Who abducted the team from the 1st half ??

Seibs doesn’t need to be someone he isn’t. Ivan Cleary won four premierships and never sprayed the team (I’ve read his book). In fact, he sprayed them in 2019 and regretted it, apologised and believes it was a turning point. If you think there’s a one size fits all approach to coaching and...

    Strategy

Yeah that ties in nicely with my perception of our team. People keep wanting to blow the joint up because we aren’t winning consistently but I think that’s very emotional (I get it), and not entirely well considered. Apparently we let the wrong coach go, but his Dragons got 56 points put on them...

    Post-Game Discussion Knights V Manly [Round 14, 2025]

I think the truth sits somewhere in the middle. We can look at games that we win and find 3-5 examples of play breaking down. It happens in every game because players aren’t perfect. They make mistakes whether we win or lose. Often, we make more mistakes in games we lose, further illuminating...

I see it as reality rather than excuses but also respect your take on things. We are united in our disappointment!

I think you’ve presented a fair case to the contrary. I was disappointed with the kick for Faulalo late in the 1st half. I felt we had them shot to bits and should have jagged another try before half time. As for the 40/20, I don’t mind so much but take your point. I feel we win with Hoppa at...

    Post-Game Discussion Knights V Manly [Round 14, 2025]

It feels like people are shocked that we aren’t suddenly kicking ahead with consistency. It’s not gonna happen with this roster. We tried last night but we aren’t this great side that beats ourselves every second week. We don’t have the cattle. We don’t suddenly expect the Knights, Tigers...

Yeah and we are Manly, not Melbourne. They aren’t that far behind us that a few injuries can’t bridge the divide.

i thought our experienced players were OK. The problem was the torching of our edges where we had players out of the position. It’s not like we made errors down our own end and fridges the Knights cheap ball. They’d just get to halfway and shift and open up our edge and score a great try. That’s...

I feel that this is one of those losses where people are letting their frustrations cloud their judgement. I’m gutted by the loss last night but understand how it happened. Lehi’s injury meant Ben T was in the centres, but that’s only part of the problem. That meant Corey Waddell moved to an...

Even worse tonight was Talau scoring to give us renewed hope, only for it to be ripped from us again.

Sad but I had the same experience, only it was when Garrick missed the kick to go up 18-0. At that point, I thought, those two points will be crucial and they were.

I thought Croker was much more effective in defence. He led the line speed and was hitting and sticking. Simpkin certainly wasn’t awful and I agree the left edge was abysmal.

No he got the ball to take a shot but they rushed him so he switched the point of the attack to Brooks. All we needed to do was send another forward up for 6-10m and take the shot on the next play.

    Post-Game Discussion Knights V Manly [Round 14, 2025]

I’m in the ‘injuries cost us and meant we had players exploited out of position’ camp but… What perplexed me was the field goal attempt from Brooks. There were still 17 seconds on the clock. We should have taken one more hit up and got closer to the posts. Why we kicked from 40m was beyond me...
