    Des Hasler retiring

Reports suggested that Dessie's contract allowed the Titans to sack him as soon as it was mathematically impossible for the team to make the finals - which, with the loss to the Broncos, is now the case. So they wouldn't need to pay him out. But yeah, my guess is he'll see out the season and...

    Des Hasler retiring

Ah, Des! I'll always remember you as a premiership-winning coach and player, as well as a vexatious litigant. Just had a thought watching Dessie's potentially final 80 minutes as an NRL coach… I know the Titans were smart enough to put performance clauses in his contract (although not smart...

All NRL Games [Round 19, 2025]

I'd forgotten he'd gone to the Wahs. Apparently he's been killing it in the reserves, too, with the Warriors winning 11 in a row. Lot of players seem to kick on once they leave the Titans…

    Pre-Game Storm V Manly [Round 20, 2025]

You are not insane. I also think we're a chance. In fact, I have more faith that we'll put in a good performance (not that we'll necessarily win) against a team like the Storm than I would if we were playing the Titans, Tigers or Bunnies. I mean, if you can't get a up for a game against the...

    NSW Cup 2025

He really does need more time in the NRL squad. I've been disappointed that his development seems to have stalled this season: very limited minutes in the very limited opportunities he's had so far.

All NRL Games [Round 19, 2025]

Yeah, I thought that was curious as well. Usually when you're that far gone (think Jake, Lehi earlier in the year), they'll immediately rule it a Category 1.

All NRL Games [Round 19, 2025]

Woeful game of football. Woeful refereeing. A match made in NRL heaven.

Neither? If Cherry runs out for the Roosters next season, as he almost certainly will, we will be none from two.

    D’Jazirhae ‘Mia’ Pua'avase

Did he ever get an NRL debut at the Cowboys? I thought he might have?

    The Kieran Forum

Yeah, he's up there with my favourite players of all time as well. That era just had some outstanding talent, with Stevie Matai, Watmough and the Beaver up there in terms of Manly "DNA" as well. Broke my heart when he left us, but gained enormous respect for him when he came out and spoke about...

    State of Origin, 2025.

I think it started the week before against the Tigers. I noticed in that game how hard Jake was hitting in defence. It was clear he was sick of stuffing around and wanted to get the team winning again.

    Garrick

I don't know that it's as simple as wingers getting less money than centres anymore. Lomax certainly isn't getting paid less money at the Eels than he was at the Dragons, and he's still playing on the wing there. Wingers used to be treated as something of a joke - the fast blokes who got to...

Sounds like Des will be calling him soon…

    Another typical Many stuff up

I mean, I haven't seen it, but I'll take your word for it. I'm sure it's very attractive.

    June 30 Deadline

He would also fill a role we really need: a young front rower with a big engine and good leg speed. He's never going to be Payne Haas ("Oh! The Payne!"), but he'd be a solid piece for a strong front row rotation without putting too much of a hit on the salary cap.

    Anyone else over Voss?

Wait… Is the answer to this thread Mrs Voss?

    Jake Simpkin signed until 2026

I don't mind Jazz starting and Simpkin coming on after the "softening up". That's been working okay, and Simpkin gets the majority of the game at hooker that way. But my fear is Croker will be thrown back into the team after the bye and we'll be back to square one.

Does anyone else find it bonkers that we are 1 win away from 5th?

Before the season started, I would have been disappointed if we only just scraped into the top eight at finals time. Now, I reckon it'll be more than a pass mark if we get there.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Said it another thread, but I swear I have seen signs of, like, actual coaching in the last two games. Adapting the game plan, showing more patience, concentrating on trying to win the middle and work teams over in the early stages of the game in order to reap the rewards as the game goes on...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

I might be imagining it, but did I detect some signs of… coaching over the last two weeks? Seems like we might have stopped trying to score from every play of every set and have instead concentrated on trying to win the middle first - like we're willing to work teams over in the early stages of...
