Maybe because the game's fan base is primarily old white men (a bit like this forum)...many of which are starting to die off and those running the game see promoting it as more inclusive than it has been as ways to get more fans involved (and spending money) with the game. Weekes could be huge for us. I don't think he is the sort of player who creates scoring opportunities but he is definitely one who can spot and capitalize them. It's something we are missing and I think he should be playing behind Tom in attack....which would either make Tom a traditional centre...- MuzztheEagle

I'll go one further and say you could even throw a new (and somewhat successful) coach and it would still work. But I wouldn't include Des in that list. Not because he's a bad coach, but because he's not going to be a part of someone else's system.- MuzztheEagle

There's so much more going on than just the coach. Chuck Ivan in at Manly after Toovey or Barrett and I imagine it wouldn't be too different from where we are now. The Tigers will be a shambles regardless of who coaches the team...unless that coach can fix everything else that's wrong at the...- MuzztheEagle
