    Origin II - 2024

How do we know Angus C doesn't want to come to Manly? Haven't seen anything so just curious.

    [Resurrected] Sitili Tupouniua

Just resign Samuela. He is only on $500k a year.

    Post-Game Discussion Souths V Manly [Round 16, 2024]

Starting Lawton at half was akin to Des starting Funa at 5/8 all those years ago. Surely the most sensible and logical decision was to start a half who actually plays half => Humphrey. This is where I have an issue with Siebold. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

    2026 recruitment & retention

We screwed up with Samuela. Simple. AND it is going to hurt every time he runs out for the Tigers. SOO in 2/3 years' time in my opinion.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Would you stay? DCE and Arthur unavailable and we play a 2nd rower at half back and then a winger/centre!! FMD.

    Jamie Humphreys

If you watch the NSW Cup highlights from Saturday vs Souths, Humphreys features prominently. Skillful, clever kicks, took the line on - exactly what we missed in FG. Always easy in hindsight however I think the shift to hooker was the wrong decision. How/why he didn't play in FG on Saturday...

    Pre-Game Souths V Manly [Round 16, 2024]

Haven't seen the obligatory training photos yet signaling Humphreys debut. Pretty sure it has been done for recent debutants. Is one coming?

    Jake Simpkin signed until 2026

Great summary Dan. For me you have nailed it. I would expect Croker to come back in (apparently, he will be back after the bye) and Simpkins on the bench. Lawton then hopefully will used as a middle/2nd row replacement.

    Next weeks team?

Vaega must be a massive risk of leaving. The more obvious change was Talau into the centre and Ray Ray on the wing. I cant imagine he would be happy with Schoupp-dog leap frogging him. While he is a rocks and diamonds player I think he can still be a first grader but most likely not with us...

    Pre-Game Souths V Manly [Round 16, 2024]

Cody Walker the key and danger man for Souths. Has been setting up tries for giggles lately. Stop Cody and we have a chance.

    Caleb Navale

Be interesting to see how he goes (assuming he is named in the final team). Good, strong ball runner however from the brief evidence I have seen can be a bit of an arm grabber. Needs to hit and use his shoulder (hopefully Browny gets in his ear).

    Next weeks team?

I watched the first trial at the game and he was not fantastic at dummy half. He was serviceable. In fact Gordon came on and looked slicker. Not sure of Humphreys best position. He is sold at half, 5/8 and hooker. However the club watch him play/train week in, week out and for some reason...

    Exciting opportunity

Well its started. A heap of guys from Sydney Shield/JF squad named in Flegg => assume a heap of guys from Flegg will be named in KOE.

    Pre-Game Souths V Manly [Round 16, 2024]

Very interesting Flegg team named. A lot of boys look to have been promoted to KOE cup.

    Next weeks team?

Surely he gets a shot. He is also the only recognised goalkicker.

We wanted resilience- we got it

100%. Has speed and footwork at the line. Another point of difference. Showed today when given a decent run what he can add. Should be in front of Waddell and probably Sipley (although shout out to Waddell for putting the team first and playing injured).

    Lehi Hopoate

So accomplished for a 19 year old and the Dragons targeted him in the 2nd half. How he didn't get at least one penalty for high shots coming off our line was beyond me. Just glides, has good hands and evasive skills. "Gonna be a good un".

    Post-Game Discussion Manly V Dragons [Round 15, 2024]

When Nathan Brown came on the whole tempo lifter. This guy is just a footballer. It is not only his 'bench fence' running but also his ball play and defence - he cuts them like Jake. Agree he is a week to week proposition and when he warms up he looks like he can hardly run, however he gets...

    Garricks performance at centre

Still think he is a better winger than a centre and these HIA's are becoming a concern. What was obvious at the ground yesterday was how much our defence improved on the fringes when Ben T moved to centre. He may make it however he needs to really improve his defence (and to be fair so does...

    The hard question

Agree with this and I am sure in a presser after Hopoate's debut game that Siebold said something along the lines of this "when Tom comes back". On form it should be Garrick (or move Garrick back to the wing). Talau may also come into consideration however I think that would be unfair. He...
