    The only reason I can see any of it making sense is if we have a plan for 2027 (Humphreys return) and a 2 year extension for cherry would get in the way unless we needed to outbid another offer to keep him a one clubber.

    He's going to make a circus for his last big contract. There's no other reason to go on national TV and talk in circles. I guess not having to negotiate a contract for a decade makes you act like a tit and leave your club legacy with a sour taste.
