Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

Yes, but he was penalised for tackling a player in the air which denied him a try. If he doesn't do that, DWZ scores. They have now set a precedent. I just looked at it again, Marzhew didn't try to jump, looked at DWZ and wrapped his arms half heartedly around him, he never looked like...

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

I get your point but they all know that you can't tackle in the air - it's for their safety apparently Yes, it's a tough rule. Problem is now that players, coaches etc will know it's not a sin bin or penalty try so...watch this space! There's a new loophole to exploit. No doubt, if it...

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

True. One example. How none of them - ref, touchie, bunker - noticed Mahoney run past the ref to get involved ( and escalate) a scuffle is inept at any level. If he doesn't run in, Seyfarth doesn't get binned.

    Tom is a Myth

Wow! Shannon Nevin > Tom? Yeah right.

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

And that's the problem, no accountability, always some spin to make not seem so bad. Sub par refereeing is sub par refereeing no matter which way you look at it.

    Waddell - a pleasant surprise

It looked to me that the pass was meant for Brooks and Waddell didn't know or stuffed up and got in the way, no way was it meant for him. Agree, not his best game but he's been asked to play 80 mins the past two weeks and it caught up with him.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

We seem to have little trouble bringing our "weapons" but maybe should focus on bringing our "shields" too!

We are embarrassing - winning the comps is years away.

Um, yeah okay! I do understand the point, you're blaming DCE for the loss by virtue of poor game management despite agreeing that he's not responsible for the errors of others that directly led to 18 points, plus two more if you count one of Garrick's missed goals. Yep, in over 300 games he...

We are embarrassing - winning the comps is years away.

So how could he have "managed" Jake not to throw the inside ball to Canberra, Lodge not to drop the ball from the kickoff, Waddell to not get in the way of a dummy half pass or Garrick to miss two sitters? Yes, he could have been better but to blame DCE for the loss is not really on imo.

    Haumole gone, DCE resurrected

Not sure if it's been raised previously but l find it really odd that if he gets a downgrade it's only a fine. So there's no middle ground? Grade 1 - fine Grade 2 - two weeks. Like most things these days, it doesn't make sense to me.

    Paul Kent in trouble again

As much as they were both pissed and aggressive it's a sad indictment on society today that no-one took charge and defused the situation. Not only that, they decide to film it and then upload it. WTF are Security doing these days?

    MVP: Rd 8 v Eels

Yep 3 DCE 2 Turbo 1 Brooks just pipping Guac - a great game after a bit of a shaky start, they targeted him but he showed his class by giving it back and then some. Guac, Brown, Alioai special mentions and Reubs goal kicking can't be overlooked.

[Resurrected] Manly Jerseys what is your fave

Let's hope it fairs way better than the Navy jersey last night.

    Kick off change

It seems that the problem occurs when there is three in the tackle, it's generally the middle defender that cops it. Suli yesterday got knocked off his balance by Sua (?) and then was a sitting duck. Rather than eliminate the long kick off, they could make it only two in the tackle from a kick...

We could just call it that ourselves. Heading out to Brookie tonight and going to sit on "The Terry"!

    Turbo and origin in 24

There aren't too many playing better than him at the moment or over the past few years tbh. He's a proven elite player at all levels. Whether he plays fullback, wing or centre is kind of irrelevant at SOO level. He will be in the starting 13 regardless if fit. Madge will play him at centre l'd...

    Terry Hill RIP

Yep, me too. We were sitting in that corner, when he was in the clear and then eyeballed Lockyer and took him on, unforgettable! That comeback was something to behold ( including Reeves' sideline conversions). The draw felt like a win.

    Turbo and origin in 24

Are you saying he doesn't deserve it? His reputation at the highest level is top shelf regardless of what position in the backline he plays.
