    18 STARS Of 2018 | Josh Schuster

Very good player. Will be looking forward to seeing how he goes with the extra physicality of playing a year young in the U18 SG Ball. By the time these “kids” are 18 they are physically full grown men.

[Resurrected] The rookies Paul Crawley expects to impress in the NRL in 2018

Yes the 2017 U20 NYC champions Manly were completely overlooked for most rep teams over the season. No player in the NYC team of the year, no player in the academic team of the year, no player in the U20 junior kangaroos, no player in the NSW U20’s. Only Manase Fainu in the Junior kiwi U20’s...

he will stay in Newcastle, the boys crying wolf..

666 - Number of the Beast

He would go off his chops if you only offered him 80K, but i would expect a few mint performances if he was offered more.
  6. Gambit

666 - Number of the Beast

He is lucky he isnt in the Sea Eagles U20's or he could be getting lambasted by the coach Wayne Lambkin...

    Official website/30 man squad

The additions of Paseka, Sipley, Tanginoa, Gosiewski and Croker to the NRL top 30 squad sounds about right. From what i hear Billy Bainbridge is taking a year off to overcome his injuries. Would love to know who our 6 development contract players are as well. Metcalf, Titmuss, Fainu, Funa...

    Likely top 30 squad 2018 ???

My fear are the knees, 3 knee injuries in two years with that giant body.

    Likely top 30 squad 2018 ???

I rate Taneila Paseka’s ability highly. Got all the tools, size, speed, ball skills. Physically at 200cm and 120kg he is ready for the NRL but mentally needs to play consistent tough footy in the NSW cup against men to prove himself. Was one of the biggest in the NYC last year but failed to...

    Jesse Martin to Souths

Tevita Funa, Manase Fainu, Tom Wright, Taneila Paseka and now Jade Anderson all signed, sealed and delivered. Cade Cust, Jaiden Tarrant and Luke Polselli all signed until the end of 2018 (so can start negotiating with rival clubs for 2019 now). Not sure on Olakauatu, Maarbanni, Smalley, Kioa, or...

    Jesse Martin to Souths

Think he was only contracted for 2017, the club would love to keep him as they rate him highly. However a smart player manager would be shopping him around to every club and letting him go to the highest bidder.
  14. Gambit

    Jesse Martin to Souths

Olakautu had an outstanding season, will either be in the 30 man squad or one of the 6 development players. Wears the number 13 but actually plays second row. Will need a big off season working on his defense.
  15. Gambit

    Jesse Martin to Souths

Spot on. Martin and David Furner are close family friends, as Furner is Souths assistant coach it was always going to be a battle to keep him here. Quite a few of the NYC boys where on the last year of their contracts so will definitely lose more. Will also struggle to keep Cust and Tarrant as...

    Bozo gone

Titmuss only played 80mins of NYC all year, why does he deserve to be there, because he scored the winning try in the grand final? Showed some promise as an impact bench prop but needs to prove that he deserves a starting spot in the U20 first let alone the NRL squad. What about the guys that...

Tom Wright: Where do you put him?

Hence why you dont judge a book by its cover, or a player after two games. Plenty of talent in that 20's side. Correct not all will play NRL but would be surprised if a couple dont debut for us next year (Fainu, Funa) and a few more over the next couple of seasons with Manly or somewhere else.
  19. Gambit

Tom Wright: Where do you put him?

Rooster 2016 NYC winners Victor Radley, Joseph Manu and Nat Butcher all played NRL this year.
  20. Gambit

    Forwards on the move .

Those teams look pretty good. The U20 team looks real strong for next year, providing the eyes don't get picked out of it at seasons end by the circling vultures. Josh Martin, Elia Faatui, jade Anderson and Jesse Martin all to old for U20 next year so probably move to NSW Cup. You would then...
