    5/8 back up

Agreed. Hiku to 5/8. Too disruptive moving Killer.

    Josh Starling

Comparing with Tolman and Woods is a bit tough. They are amongst the top props statistically in the comp. Other comparisons include: Hit ups/ all run metres / tackles Starling 10/94/20 Lawrence 10/88/30 Norrie 8/80/19 Snowden 10/108/23 Mason 10/103/18 Tamou 14/118/26 Mannah...

    Forward pack

Great problem to have. Can't really separate Starling, Lui, Hasson, JSL, and Symonds. All should also continue to improve. Great depth. [hr] Anyone know where we can find minutes played? Can't seem to find them on normal stat sites this year. Keen to see how they were used. My perception was...

    Gifty being knocked out

I think he will be done for dangerous contact to the head rather than for a shoulder charge.

    Winning games without the Stewarts

We really need to pay what we need to to keep Hiku. Without him we can't cope with Snakes injury issues. Any other option knocks us around much more. Plus he is also our preferred backup for halves and centres. His flexibility in these three positions short or long term makes him essential to keep.

    Closing Out Games...

His kicks that consistently landed 5m out meant that the Roosters were constantly working the ball out and little threat. I thought he made a huge impact. Great choices I thought with the new rules.

    Brilliant start to the year!!

Not disappointed with King at all. Tough call for him to miss a week. He's come back really well.

    Shows Snakes impact!!

Seems to me that we may need to have someone like Hiku on the bench just in case Snake goes down. He's just so unreliable and yet so important to is. A reshuffle really costs us. May be able to use Hiku in a variety of ways a bit like Mortimer is used.

Are The Seaeagles Better in 2014??

I think we are stronger. As noted above our forwards aren't as big a difference as it sounds. The backs I believe have more depth. Our halves have more experience. And from what I can gather we are starting the season in better overall injury shape than last year. Plus our average age is coming...

Which fringe/new front rower is most likely to star this year?

We seem to have 6 options. Which is most likely Hasson Lui Starling Turbo Sao Andrews

Have the front row left a massive hole??

I read Wayne Bennett's biography some years back. He said there that he believed in making props not buying them. Seems to be what we are doing here. Getting guys with potential to become stars in the Manly system. Makes sense to me.

Manly 9's - Your team selection

Don't risk Snake, Lyons, Watmough, Gift, Foran, King, Fa'oso, Matai That makes DCE the top 5 player who is more durable. Gives us 17 top 25 players and 4 others to form our squad.

Manly 9's - Your team selection

Brenton Lawrence would be my first player picked.

    lussick and harrison

Their issue is that no-one wants to play there so they need to pay overs to get some. The idea is that when they get a few, others will then consider going for normal coin. With Hopa, Tolman and a few others coming things may be looking up.

Is Sao ready for 1st grade

I watched my first game of NSW cup for a while today. Out of everyone I felt Sao was most ready to step up to first grade.

Who are your top eight sides and why?

Interesting how many of us have selected 2012 top eight plus Roosters less one team. Who will surprise?
