    No need for that. We still have him for this season. I don't wish him any ill will, but the absolute line of BS he has spun tonight leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Anyway, Brooks to 7 with Walsh or Large to 6 next year. Buy a marquee prop and second rower with the cash savings, and move on.

    Yep. This is just his last eff you to whichever power brokers at the club that he secretly despises. He knows exactly where he is going next year, and I'm sure his decision would have coincided with a very expensive round of golf with a particular car dealership owner.

    There has to be some aspect of this that he's not sharing. It makes zero sense to say he wants to keep his options open but not have Manly as one of the options. The other thing here is that he's definitely angling for a post career media role with Nine. Giving them this "exclusive" access.

    The calculus changes when he is playing on past the age that most players retire at. There are a lot more uncertainties about his body's ability to keep it all up.

    If he leaves I'm not that worried about it. At worst we are a bit worse off in the halves for maybe a year. Age will catch up with him, I'd rather we put the cash into our pack, move Brooks to 7, and fast track the development of Onitoni Large. I think he could be good enough to debut next year.

    I actually agreed with most of what he said. The crap that gets called a 6-again happens every single match without any ref intervention, and clubs lint the storm and Panthers so it routinely without being penalised. And coaches not being able to publicly question the refs is ridiculous.
