    Cherry's Long Term Future

As I didn't want to dampen GF Week, I resisted posting this until now. DCE was seen on the Gold Coast for a few days in the week leading up to the Souths Semi-Final. Perhaps Manly were aware of this, perhaps not. Make of that what you will.

    Happy Birthday to Ken Arthurson

Just wanted to let everyone know that it is Ken Arthurson's 84th birthday today. We would not be where we are today without The Godfather of the Sea Eagles! Happy Birthday Ken, and may you have many more!

Des's Long Term Future In Doubt?

I thought the same thing. Nothing stays the same forever. Not like he's being sent to Siberia and told never to contact the Sea Eagles ever again. But then he did wriye an article recently where he stated he understood the reasoning behind the decision to make changes, so pehaps things will sort...

Des's Long Term Future In Doubt?

Thanks for that link Ceagle.....pretty dramatic scenario. You'd think that if Des left, then there might be a few players who would follow him judging from their discontentment with those at board level. You can only assume that the board realises there must be a common ground met, and will do...

Des's Long Term Future In Doubt?

I really don't see Des as the type of man who would leave Manly simply for the lure of bigger money elsewhere. So whatever issues that are, or may be stalling his long term commitment....lets hope they can be sorted. It would be interesting to know if anyone has any clues on what these issues...

Des's Long Term Future In Doubt?

Can't blame any team for wanting to buy the best coach/recruitment man in the game....but surely Manly would leave no stone unturned in ensuring this did not happen.

Des's Long Term Future In Doubt?

I don't tend to post too often, but thought this one was important. Listening to Talkin Sport on the way home tonight, Graeme Hughes mentioned just before the show ended that there is talk that Des's contract extention has hit a hurdle or two. He didn't say what those hurdles are. More...

    News: Manly can't afford Beaver

It's just hard to understand how they can say "we can't afford him". Have they even asked how much he wants? I can't see him asking for an extravagant amount.

    News: Manly can't afford Beaver

Yes, I appreciate that it's not like he played for no monetary reward during his outstanding career, but Manly still owe him for all the years that Steve Menzies WAS Manly! Just imagine, and it's not beyond happening, if another NRL club were to come up with an offer for him for next year. He...

    News: Manly can't afford Beaver

Spot on. And great players...and he is a GREAT player, don't lose their chops especially as he has still been playing...and scoring tries, and making tackles...We're not talking about a Gasnier return here. Beaver doesn't need to learn how to play the game again!

    News: Manly can't afford Beaver

For sure. People remember all the tries he scored, but I'd bet he probably stopped around half that number from being scored against us. Outstanding whether he was cleaning up or putting on a big hit.

    News: Manly can't afford Beaver

Just my second post, but as a Manly supporter for over 30 years, it astounds me that Manly would not do all they could to coax Steve Menzies back for a final season. In my humble opinion, one of the primary reasons for our inconsistency since the 2008 Grand Final (apart from injuries) has been...

A question or two to the "Guests" that frequent this site regularly

Re: A question or two to the 30-40 "Guests" that frequent this site regularly Thanks mate. A crunching 'A' power chord it was.

A question or two to the "Guests" that frequent this site regularly

Re: A question or two to the 30-40 "Guests" that frequent this site regularly Don't think I've succumbed to peer group pressure since I was at school, but Mark struck a chord. And it's actually quite cool to be part of a group who share the same passion, for the same subject....MANLY! Happy to...
