Probably just 9 holes of Grecian golf to make up the financial loss and everyone's happy.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

The whole thing looks like an elaborate plan probably hatched sometime last year and being carefully orchestrated to provide misinformation and red herrings to confuse the issue. Maybe this is to hide or confuse an illegal approach or deal with DCE. I find it difficult to believe that Manly...

    Manly Warringah history question.

Yeah I had seen this one but couldn't see any point in trying to flog a dead horse. The first part of the old Manly song says up the mighty sea eagles while the second says"mighty seaguls above the din" if I remember. Bit of an each way bet by the look of it. What I said originally was a lot of...

    Manly Warringah history question.

Well there you go, must have been my hearing. All those other poor people in the 50's must have been afflicted as well or didn't sing it fast enough. Or maybe old Norths supporters, there were plenty of them around at the time. Perhaps that's how Seagles became Beagles. ;)

    Manly Warringah history question.

I had seen all the evidence presented as others have said, I don't doubt it is all true. But what is the explanation for the song they used to play at Brookie games.Listen to it yourself. Maybe a rogue staff member or my hearing was bad. All the kids I knew sang Seagulls at that time. :)🦅

    Manly Warringah history question.

I know Manly always say they were always the Sea Eagles but in the early 50's I think more people knew them as the Seagulls than Sea eagles in those days. Listen to the old song they used to play at the ground (you can find it on spotify search "Manly Warringah") The first line is "Up the mighty...

[Resurrected] Best Ever Manly juniors ??

There was a game of football at Manly Oval (fairly social, no hard tackling) between a Manly Boys High team and Old Boys around 1958 or 59 and REX played in that game. I was there (watching) and I think it was kind of a hybrid game, half RU and half RL (sort of) and part touch. Rex was playing...

    Sell-out Brookie Crowds

In the early 60's we use to turn up for the main game (after playing) and they used to let us in for free as Junior players. (the gate next to the entrance opposite St Augustines). I also used to take my girlfriend in this way too as "a junior players girlfriend". ;)

Went to school with old school Manly players

Len Diett was a PE teacher at MBH when I was there. Think he used to walk (or run) from Manly Wharf to school at Brookie every day. Edit: Might of oopsed, thoughy he played for Manly at one time but appears to be not so according to RL Project.
