Talau almost didn't play yesterday so I wouldn't be opposed to a guy like this on the bench to come on for the final 20 mins of a match when our forwards are tiring, just for the NRL experience.
Because the first 20 minutes of tackling are the most intense and tiring of the whole match, and having the bigger/slower of your two hookers on in that period of the game allows you to preserve the energy of your smaller/quicker hooker.
That would be a pass mark at best. We have the chance to make the 8, and if Paseka can come back from injury before the finals we can still have a serious tilt.
I agree with that normally but DCE already looked to be doing his best to slide right to cover huge holes when the Rabbitohs scored down that side tonight
Hopefully his last two outings have forever put to bed the nonsense idea that he is a centre.
Our right edge defense still looked awful but I think that rot was actually starting with Waddell being too slow.
I don't know if any other prop we have fit at the moment can do what he does in those 15 mins. I'd rather start the match dominant than have an ineffective prop playing big minutes.
Yes any side would struggle if you take out three starting forwards.
It's a real shame that we have fluffed the chance to make the top 4 but I'm hoping we can stay in the 8, and maybe get Paseka back before the finals.
Very disappointing second half, but this is exactly what I feared given how light our bench looked.
But at the end of the day poor game management and ill discipline have allowed what should have been a routing to become a contest.
