    2026 recruitment & retention

I hope this means we can re-sign Garrick on the money he wants. If not, the recruitment is screwed.

    Jason Saab

I have no idea. He hasn't improved his defence either. Quite frankly, if he went to Melbourne he'd probably turn into Coates 2.0 under Bellamy. Which brings us to that second point of your question; I am skeptical that Seibold can get the best out of our players

    Jason Saab

Only Saab, being the speed merchant he is, could be involved in the NRL's fastest try, and not be the one scoring it... Seriously, like, catching a ball is a skill learned in Under 6's. Saab can't even do it in the NRL. Does my head in.

Did we really just let Talau go? FFS.

Jack would be a dreadful signing. Dude gets suspended or binned every 5 minutes

    The Manly DNA

We've had 4 Premiership-winning coaches. All four played at some point for Manly. And all of our grand finalist coaches also played for the club. There's a reason why Barrett and Seibold haven't been that successful here. Their coaching styles don't complement the club.

I mean, this is Ivan's 2nd stint coaching the club.

    Competition integrity

I wouldn't mind seeing a Wildcard week. One this year, for example, would've prevented Penrith's kerfuffle of resting the entire 17 man team last week.

    Attacking embarrassment

Well, I'm not sure how next year is going to pan out. Far less 2027, when the club is presumably letting Garrick walk. My only hope for the rest of the year is that Canberra wins the comp, so that way we replace one Premiership winning half with another. That in itself ought to give the team...

    Trump

Zali and Allegra should hold. Their seats aren't even notional Liberal seats anymore; Labor recorded 2PP majorities in both seats. Scamps and Chaney are on thinner margins, but will most likely hold. Monique Ryan will be in trouble in 2028, especially if the Liberals name a strong...

Positive suggestions for the club going forward

There's certainly enough talent on the Northern Beaches for an NRLW team to pop up. There's a ton of Blues Tag teams (not quite rugby league but close to transferable skills) on the Beaches. Big issue is, currently, our promising junior womens players are being snatched up by the Roosters/other...

    Trump

Yes, they absolutely could've done way worse. There's a few seats on the Coalition side of the pendulum that was only decided by a couple hundred votes. Believe it or not, there's still some seats they could lose in 2028 unless they fix their acts up. Goldstein, Longman, and Forrest, for example.

    Trump

The biggest thing that stuck out for me with the Libs --> Trump-like comparisons was when Michaelia Cash basically said "Peter Dutton will govern with the exact same attitude as Donald Trump". IMO, that's when the polls started swinging around, and that was a driving factor in why Dutton lost...

    Trump

The Coalition here have taken on a Trump-esque platform for the last two elections, and as a result the Liberals have been wiped out of Adelaide, Perth, Tasmania, and Sydney's North Shore. Had Zoe Daniel had been reelected in Goldstein in May, you'd have been able to add Melbourne to that list...

    November Targets

This club does stupid decisions like this all the time. Weekes, Metcalf, Verrills, Hynes, etc. All promising juniors that came through our system, but only one would play for Manly; Weekes. Hynes has a Dally M, Metcalf probably would've won this year if not for the ACL injury, Verrills won a...
