1. Injuries play a crucial part in our side. Especially when they are on top of each other. Just as a good combo starts, someone goes down.

2. DCE is the cog in our side, remove him and we crumble. Snake use to be the cog, but Hiku is a more-than-marvellous replacement.

3. Buhrer needs to be signed up ASAP. No doubt about it, has lifted this year and has scored in our past three.

4. Foz just won't stop giving 100%, along with DCE, they are one of the best defensive halves I've seen in a while.

5. We need a front rower that is over 190cm, weighs over 110kg and with ball in hand, sends the tacklers flying.

6. Horo needs Super Glue, and not just the supermarket one, the industrial one!

7. More dummy-half runs out of the red zone, these one out heart-attack passes are going to land me in hospital!

Anyone got anymore to add?

Losing is un-Manly

When Wolfie is not in the Team, other Player's errors are actually noted on here

We need a defensive Coach.

Willow must go, he breeds ineptitude into lower grade Players

I certainly agree with points 1. to 4.

Buhrer should've been signed 'yesterday' and can't understand why the delay.

Today we were very much up against it, with having Foz and Killer just back from injuries, losing DCE and Choc, playing the Broncos at Suncorp, Nine and NRL wanting the Broncs to win for the ratings, a lopsided penalty count and then Snake and Hiku having off days.

We had to be superb to get over all that but the mountain was too high!

The Broncos could be the real deal, a team on the up and hungry for success.

best thing said in this thread. Credit where it is due, they played well and Hunt has come of age this year.

He has come along so much, a bench playing hooker last year. Dominant today on the back of a powerhouse pack.

Wayne will have good cattle when he takes over next year.

1. Many of our bombs today just didn't have enough height

2. We must be the worst team when it comes to defending bombs. Surely, plan A has to be get into position to try to take a bomb

3. Love Matai, but time for someone else to take set kicks (ie kickoff)

4. Hiku will take a long time to learn how to be a good centre

5. JLJ, at this stage can more easily cover Foz missing, rather than DCE. We really overplayed our left side attack today.

6. Starting to worry a little now about our lack of intensity in many games this year. Some really odd errors made today.

... Always cranky and annoyed after a loss. So much more can be said, but best to forget and move on.

He might be coming of age but man, that haircut! Worst in the NRL.

I think point 6 there is my concern. I wrote in a post yesterday about not being overly concerned about today, and I'll agree with Bob Dylan in giving these guys some credit for the win, but my worry is games like this and the tigers.

I don't recall us crumbling so badly in 2 games (out of12) in recent memory. In fact I can recall in the last 5 or so years maybe 3 games (when Melbourne pantsed us twice with the same 40-12 scoreline, and probably another there somewhere) where that has happened. Losing in itself doesn't worry me. You have off games, that's life, and sometimes the other team is just better on the day. What worried me was again today that feeling of the Broncs about to score everytime they attacked our line. I don't get that feeling very often, but it is really creeping into our play.

The other comment on here about a line bending prop....sorely needed.

Wolfie is a better winger than Hiku.
Wolf would have been crucified if he'd dished up that today. Hiku will need to work harder to retain a spot in first grade. Having said that many of our regulars were well below par today. Snake was a liability and Lyon was obviously not 100 percent right. Very hard for the young guns to step up when the senior players dont seem interested.

They had a ''hot'' arvo the Bronx; like we did against the Raiders.

But we were poor today too.

I'd like to see them string a few wins together, esp away from Suncorp, before I'm sold on their resurgence.

Not to mention the quite substantial question mark remaining on the issue of their salary cap!

Didn't think that was our worst performance this year.

We had a few chances today but just couldn't quite get the timing go our way.

What we do lack is an explosive forward that can create an opportunity by busting the line. An SBW, T-Rex (on his day), Burgess, type play. Our back rowers are pretty good hole runners and have some good ball skills, but in the face of good defence we don't someone who can provide that power play.

I don't think we've looked after the ball very well for most of the year. I know we don't seem to get a fair shake of the 50/50 calls from the men in the middle, but we do usually turn over way to much ball ourselves. When we do have good completion rates we are still one of the teams to beat.

Absolutely agree.Everyone suggests we should be chasing props.Im more in the Bennett camp, pay unders for blokes who simply eat up metres and play the ball up tempo and pay up for the dynamic players who win you games. You still have to select your "unders" players well but at least when you make a mistake it ain't too costly.Easily said but who knows where our cap is going forward.

Anyone else notice the total lack of desire from Taufua to chase Gillet? He gave up at the 22, with 78 more metres to go. Expected better from a winger, especially one who had been under-used all game.

Yep, bl**dy ordinary. What I've loved in prior years was when there was a breakaway you would have 4 or 5 sea eagles chasing. We played the dogs in 2011 and Barba made a break (we were leading 38 - 0), Killer and Wolfman and a few others chased like their lives depended on it, and that to me summed up the attitude. And they looked plenty peeved that they had let the dogs score a point.

Full credit to Hiku on Gillett. He chased from the other side of the field.

The main problem that I saw in the Broncos game yesterday was some really bad defence amongst our backs. Brett had two bad moments....direct pass to one of their guys that led to a try and a few minutes later was easily side-stepped by their centre for another try. Hiku ran out of the defensive line on several occasions and left a massive hole each time that you could have driven a truck through.....I recall at least one try from that. Jorge missed an easy tackle on Gillett that led to a try late in the game....and embarrassingly, did not even try to catch him. Matai was easily side-stepped near our line for another Broncos try. So 5 tries from either bad tackles or poor defensive reads.....from the backs. Not sure who is our defence coach these days but surely that’s where we start again. That was almost as bad as our recent Newcastle effort.

Re forwards.....I think a few of our current guys are struggling and badly out of form. I would be introducing some new blood into the 17. I have seen several of the NSW Cup games and I would love to see Ligi Sao, Daniel Harrison and Luauki given a shot. They are playing well and deserve a promotion.
