Under 14k at SFS, vs 20k+ at Brookie

Not sure if the NRL understood the value of a home semi...not only in crowd numbers but also respecting a top two finish.

Pathetic!!!
Not thought out....but I do recall a semi in the SFS some years ago, Manly versus Cowgilrs with 30k crowd. I live in qld, so tell me why there were only 14k there.??????

It's a **** time slot for familys - I'd have taken my kids if it was @ 6.30 or even 7.30

I have no idea in the other thread it seemed like there was about 16k pre sold, maybe it was too cold, too late or too far away for some supporters?

You tell me why?

Their disappointment was in a way justified, with just 13,972 fans turning out - far less than the 23,000-capacity of Brookvale Oval.

The crowd would have been about the same at brookie, if not less.

It was freezing with the wind chill plus raining much of the day.

Amazingly though,at around 7pm the wind died down and the clouds completely cleared.

The other problem was the 8:30pm start - too late!. This is supposed to be a family game!.

I hope the club has learnt it's lesson and doesn't whinge too much about it, afterall every CEO agreed to it.

As i was picking up my tickets at the game.. we asked the ticket booth guy... and he said they were expecting 28,000.

LOL.. NRL lost alot of money in this game. Serves them right for moving our away game over 20km from home.. even though it was a closer drive for me... but still id prefer it at Brookie.
