Now I will stand corrected on this, but after searching different sites, I can only believe that the Bulldogs are even more pathetic than we thought.

This round is associated with Anzac Day.

Manly players will wear a special jersey to commemorate our past and present troops and all those mongrel dogs come up with is a blue t shirt that has nothing to do with commemorating the day.

It seems that Greenburg and his motley crew think that putting the boot into Manly is more important that remembering the sacrifices of our Anzacs.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, I know what team will be the winners on Friday.

Can't blame Greenberg for that mate, he has a market to cater for.

Yes bones that market is called the lowest common denominator

Foran forced to stay at Manly?

Adam Lucius Sportal

Manly have been told they stand a strong chance of retaining Kieran Foran on legal grounds if they can prove former coach Des Hasler acted illegally in walking out on the club last year.

Foran has a get-out clause in his contract allowing him to depart the premiers if Hasler is not at the helm, and intends on activating that escape route to join his old coach at the Bulldogs in 2013.

It is understood the Kiwi international has - or is close to - signing with Canterbury and will wait until this weekend's grudge match between Manly and the Dogs is over before announcing the move.

Desperate not to lose one of the competition's leading players after watching Hasler and half his back-up staff exit the club following last year's grand final win, frantic Sea Eagles officials have sought legal advice to halt Foran's defection.

They will argue that because Hasler allegedly breached his contract in ditching their club for Canterbury, Foran's get-out clause is null and void.

This is interesting, Kerian comes accross as really good kid and I think he would be torn between manly and the person who gave him his first start in 1st grade. I don't believe that he's doing the dodge like des did. Ofcourse he is testing the waters contract wise because he like all of us thought the out clause is kosher. His manager is trying to his best and up his price I actually feel the club shouldn't wait for his decision they should go to the Nrl and Schubert and get there ruling before he signs. If The nrl says its null and void then it's business as usually until next season and then we go thru this process again. Lot of things change in 12 months.

If this supposed legal action is true, the clubs making a big mistake. If Foz doesn't see his future at Manly just let him go. It would become toxic if he was kept against his will.

If he does leave I'l be gutted but life goes on. I'm just glad we've kept DCE and we can build our team around him for years to come.

If you look around the league no team has 2 superstar halves which we enjoy at the moment. That's only because DCE was on a minimal wage.
Also firmly believe Riccardis time has come and is a ready made replacement if Foz leaves. Wel all know soon enough.

I thought this as well.

It's better to spread your money and dominant players across the park.

1, 7 and 9 are always the start. I'd rather have a name 2nd rower and centre to keep the class spreadout.

In a perfect world it would be great to keep them all. If anyone has to go out of Foran, Brett, Matai, TRex or Ballin...i think i would say Foran. As much as i love him, he's not worth losing 2 of these names for.

Not sure why the NRL or Schubert make that call, unless that is first step in a dispute resolution process. Contract disputes will ultimately be settled in court.

Normally I'd favour letting a player go if he wanted to go, but not so sure in this case. For one thing, if it was that tough a decision then obviously he sees a lot to like at Manly also. Plus the kid is so competitive, and ambitious, he wouldn't just be marking time, he would put in wherever he played.

So if there is a technicality, he might be stuck with what he signed. That's not the club's fault, so let them test that issue and see where it stands.

There was talk that gifts contract had a loop hole when des left, the club took his contract to Schubert to review and get a ruling on. Surely the can do the same with forans

The other thing is even if it's only one season that's one more season the dogs won't have him and throws a spanner in their recruitment plans.

If he is going to the corrupt bulldogs club, then I'd prefer he announced it prior to the game so I can boo him on Friday and yell out dog every time he touches the ball.
If he is staying at a decent club, I'd prefer he announced it prior to the game so I can cheer him even louder.

QFT. I'd like to know aswell so I can boo the **** out of him until the end of the season.

I would like an outcome ASAP is signing foran a better option then securing 5 or more of our other players off contract ? The sooner we know the sooner we can build for the future of manly not the future of kieran foran !

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

58 pages, my goodness, must be a record.

Settle down Manly faithful. Just chill and let things pan out. I have no inside information but feel that an announcement that he is staying will be made on the eve of the bulldogs clash.

It is starting to make sense now

It is starting to make sense now.

After the rumour mill gets stronger and stronger on Friday last week that KF has signed with the dogs, Team Foran (Hasler, his Manager, Zorba) go into damage control to attempt to turn the tide before anything is confirmed prior to the grudge match this Friday, I am sure KF would want it this way. He does not want his current teammates to find out before Friday. In the meantime Greenburg is leaking the information and printing T-shirts making it the worst kept secret in League circles.

Then over the weekend the following articles appear – Saturday morning SMH his manager saying that he has not made a decision and he is having difficulty, Zorba’s article in the Manly Daily saying his gut feeling is that he will stay with Manly and that the players are close but if the steel-like chain is broken other will follow, knowing full well he has signed with the dogs.

This is a total lack of regard and respect for the great Manly club and its supporters, shame on you all, Manly made you all what you are today.

Its time to let go of all the talk whether KF will go or not, he is now under the control of Hasler and Greenturd.

If we maintain the majority of our current players this will be a blessing in disguise as we have an option with Ricardi or Buerer at five eight, and will free up money for what we really need as we rebuild – Props.
When you take all the emotion out this is what is best for Manly.

Go Manly.

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

If they are testing out if the clause is void or not why the hell did the club not do that after Des left and the talk of a get out clause was first mentioned? They should have got the relevant legal advice at that point. Then tell Foran and his manager, sorry mate we believe the clause is void so don't be looking around. We got into the bidding war. Based on that I would say he is gone and the clause still stands. This is just to make as if we are doing something to stop him leaving.

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

Did I read somewhere, I think it was last Sundays paper that Dave Perry was out of the country shoring up an upgrade to Kasperskey's sponsorship?? That gives me the feeling that he knows exactly whats going on. Whether it's Foz, TRex, Snake or Matai that goes we are gonna be upset but the guys in control, Geoff and Dave are gonna do their best. We've had some bloody awesome players at this club who I thought would/could never be replaced but in the long run they have been.. Me personally I didn't think there could be life after Menzies, but now Lyon is my favourite. I personally think Foz is gone...so be it. If so in 2013 we will see a new 5/8 and maybe a new favourite...Who knows?

Agreed. But his sacking presumably activated the get out clauses. The journalist in the Manly Daily doesn't appear to understand this.

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

If the club can use legal means to keep Kez until the end of next year, I say absolutely go for it- twelve months is a long time and in the meantime, Tooves will have had more time to stamp his own presence over the squad. Also, if Kez is forced to stay, he will obviously be on the previous contract amount, allowing us a better chance to retain T-Rex, Snake, and others. If he still wants to leave after 2013, we wish him all the best- by that time either Riccardi, Ferris or even his brother (if he learns to pass with softer hands), may be ready to fill the breach.

On another tangent, with all the talk of Kez wanting a specialised halves coach, has "Ha$ler-man of no legacy" promised him the half-back's role next year, or even the year after?- my understanding was that Hodgkinson had signed for three years commencing last year. This, (having Kez at halfback) is something that we can't offer him at the Premiers.

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

If we can legally make Foz stay till 2013 then we should . This club as a whole has put plenty of time and money into making keiran the player he is today, not just Des . Stuff bending over for the dishlickers . He's a professional footballer , he will give his best while we have him . If he doesn't his value drops .

Even if it keeps him away from the dogs for another year would be rewarding in some way.

RE: Foran - Will he ? Won't he ?

This from Skysports. Some new details about Foran apparently had a deadline 2 weeks ago from the club and talks seem to have broken down. Not a good sign.

One respected legal figure, who is an expert in contract litigation and has been monitoring the situation closely, believes the Sea Eagles' case is potentially very strong.

'If they can prove Hasler acted illegally then that sullies the clause in Foran's contract,' the legal source told Sportal on Monday.

'Their argument does have some credibility to it if their assertion of what Hasler is alleged to have done is proven.

'I would have thought it was in Manly's best interests to get those assertions out into the public domain as quickly as possible.'

The Sea Eagles placed a deadline on Foran a fortnight ago that came and went without any decision.

Those with intimate knowledge of the negotiations have revealed there are several sticking points and talks between player and club have all but broken down.

The longer Foran avoids contact with club bosses, the more likely it is that he is heading to Belmore.
