Okay most people are aware of the Manly curse coaching wise ie if you're a struggling coach and playing Manly you'll get sacked the Monday after.
Fact : No coach has won a premiership after leaving Manly (nswrl, arl, nrl)

Player wise it's coming up at the moment with Tony Williams and to a lesser extent Darcy Lussick and Daniel Harrison

How many coaches have left to go and coach other sides ?

Ron Willey coached a number of clubs late 70's and 80's and Frank Stanton went on to coach Tigers and Norths in the 80's. Graham Lowe coached the Cowboys in 96. Admittedly that's not much but we've also got our old friend Des now coaching you know who

Oldfield just scored for the Rorters curse broken LOL

1 try doesn't break the curse.
Need to perform your whole career

Only two players have won a top Grade Aus grand final after leaving Manly.

England how ever is a different story.

Was thinking Phillips but thought he'd retired before that GF win. Was a good player

Yeah but 2 might beat the averages.

To prove its significance, you'd have to compare it to the number of players who have left other top Grade clubs to win a Grand Final with Manly. So are there more than 2?

I feel for jethro, lost 2 with parra, lost 2 with us, and went to penrith then retired before penrith won. Siggy a similar story, lost with newtown us and dogs.

Some players are like that, Inu lost with Parramatta in 2001, the Kiwis in 2011 and Canterbury in 2012.

There would probably be more than two in each of Manlys premierships.
