Going to need some good line speed to cut down the Sharkies attacking options ., Manly seem to have some points in them recently so guess that a decent completion rate would be very helpful also . Think that Bullemor in particular and De Luis can go O K , De Luis actually started in at least one game last season but probably Tent and Toff to start . Walker a key role to play again , D C E and foz are right up there again form wise but will have to be to counter the smart Sharkies halves pairing . Still a competitive Manly line up so should have some reasonable degree of confidence , certainly hope that Garrick will have his kicking boots on again .

With Hynes conducting their attack they play a quite expansive style in attack, will require our blokes to be well organised and stay in formation, not get sucked in to rushing out and leaving gaps. Despite the players missing most of our side is quite well settled so I'm confident we'll defend well.

We have a big slow pack.
Hoping this is a bash fest and the Sharks play the same way.

If Sharks decide to play up tempo footy through the ruck our big boys won’t keep up.
With Fifita and Hunt on their bench they are not exactly a small and nippy pack either. Should be an interesting close game.
What we don't need is a front rower getting hurt in the first set. That's happened to us already a couple of times this year!

It’s their back 5 that’ll decide the pack domination.

Their back 5 coming out of trouble, up tempo, our retreating defensive line - worries me.

Saab, Harper and to a degree Garrick all struggle in this area, which will force our forwards to help sooner and create more fatigue.

Hope I’m wrong.

And yes, please no injuries 🙏
Good kick and chase can negate this somewhat.
Look at saabs season , monstered when he gets the ball
The good chase means the next hit ups are met by a line

I think we’ll cause an upset tonight. We have a good record against the Sharks and the short turn around is an advantage for us, given we won against the Titans, whereas the Sharks played a highly physical and highly intense game against the Storm.

I also think the Sharks are due the inevitable dip as a new coach and new combinations will inevitably come down to earth at some point in what is a long season.

Not confident with this one, so many 1st choice outs and too many ifs and buts.
All I know is we can't play silly like the 2nd half last week, we need to value the ball and not go for the glory play to early and aim up in defence, no lazy cover otherwise qe are gone.
Other than that I'm having shark and chips for dinner !

It'll be a penalty-a-thon out of their own 40 and a 6 again-a-thon between their 40 and our goal line. Analsley crapping on about no favoured teams will see the whistle/bunker clowns take it out on us.

I actually believe the top 4 this season (at seasons end) will be:

1. Penrith
2. Storm
3. Sharks
4. Eels

So it remains to be seen if we can beat one of these top 4 teams, for the first time in 18-19 months (understand last years top teams were different).

This could really instill some belief in the squad that we CAN beat them if we apply ourselves, and could be a springboard for the remainder of this season.

PS: Also be sweet going into the weekend sitting top 3.

Is it going to rain?

Interesting that fox power rankings have manly at third, in front of parra, roosters and sharks.

Yes we can every day of the week Ryan when we get to full strength, Sharks and the Eels will be ours for the taking. At present, down on troops and a big challenge tonight for the boys, but got a good feeling about this one.
