News: Bid to end phony NRL contract inflation

<p>THE NRL is again looking to rein in player managers by putting a contract offer system back on the table for discussion at a meeting of clubs next week. The idea of centralising contract offers from rival clubs has been discussed at least twice by the NRL -- in 2002 and 2004. </p>

Set the pre season comp up the same as the AFL do. Run it over 4 weeks, knock out. Most teams play 2 trials before the season starts anyway and its a great opportunity to give your younger blokes a run in first grade if you want to rest your senior players.
