<p>MANLY supremo Ken Arthurson is backing calls for the NRL to establish an independent tribunal to handle some off-field incidents. </p> <p>Arthurson watched in pain as Manly opened its premiership defence with a 34-12 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night. </p> <p>Suspended fullback Brett Stewart was another hopeless on-looker, serving the first of his four-match suspension for bringing the game into disrepute. </p> <p>Rumours surfaced on Monday of some sections of the Sea Eagles keen to pursue an injunction against the NRL to prevent the NSW custodian from missing another game. </p> <p>A source close to the Sea Eagles told The Manly Daily Stewart’s counsel, Geoff Bellew, is “very angry with the NRL†for banning his client, fearing the suspension could prejudice the player against allegations of sexual assault. </p>
