Ah Bozo. You stimulated my recollections of past Full Back Greats in the Manly side. They've had what I consider three great full backs Eadie, Stewart and Turbo. Some would include Ridge but I considered him more very safe. Not as dynamic as those three. I'm an Eadie fan and considered he pipped the other two but only just. You might also recall another full back well loved in his time. Not as great as those three, but still a fine custodian. I'm talking of Bob Batty. In a time of top full backs such as Langlands, Churchill, Johns, Barnes, and I even had a soft spot for Eric Simms, he was a worthy name to include. Ah the memories Bozo.
Thank you for sharing your Wonderful Manly memories @Bearfax

My Memorable Manly memories are these
The Greatest Attributes for our third Premiership Winning Fullback Mathew Ridge were his match winning Resilience , Tenacity and Consistency and Being a Premiership Winning Fullback I place him 3rd Behind the Wombat who won 4 Premiership and the Snake who won 2

These are our Benchmark Premiership Winning Fullbacks
1. Wombat
2. Snake
3. Ridge

The Benchmark of our legendary clubs success are our Premiership Winning players

I will be interested how former Manly's next messiah Albert Hopoate goes tomorrow night, now he has his chance to play his favourite position - Fullback.

Raiders are basically playing with no real halves in very wet conditions and are very likely to just turn this into an attritional slog and a forwards battle. Sort of game I reckon we'd win by plenty in the dry as our backs would run riot but in this weather I'm a lot more wary.

I'm loving that Sipley is back I think we'll need every one of our forwards for this.... Canberra are going to go to play to their remaining strengths their forwards and go old school " stick it up the jumper" tactics on us I reckon. Let's hope we are up for the battle before we start throwing it around.

The issue for Canberra though is their lack of a long kicking game.

Before las week Fogarty had kicked for over 3,000 metres and Strange was 2-300. Weekes aint a noted kicker.

Will be a big factor in the wet

I agree 100%, there is a massive risk of an ambush here.

I think Seibold, at least, recognises this. He goes out of his way in his latest presser to emphasise he is expecting a tough, experienced Raiders team. Sounds like they're not taking it lightly.

Sure does. Rain forecast from 6pm. Lucky Brookie oval has under cover seating for everyone 🤫
Dont Worry about Undercover seating feathered friend
Just wear a raincoat and sing with me

All together now ......
We are seating in the rain
Just seating in the rain

That 30-16 was a wet night from memory. We were terrible. Let's not do that again.

His pressers are excellent can’t imagine Des talking articulately for 12 minutes.
