Yes, my brief experience of the Netherlands way back in 1985, was that it had its fair share of dykes. Who like all good House of Orange-Nassau subjects, liked to ride bikes.Is that code for "Open the floodgates" or as for your dutch friend "Taking for finger out of the hole in the Dyke".
