There's a good article this morning about Manly in the SMH by Greg Pritchard. He talks a bit about Des. He says he is the best performing coach in the league this year. I'd have to agree. I think we have the best quality on the field: wins ratio in the League. He obviously has the players believing in his system and playing hard for him. I think that is extremely important - the players have to have confidence in their coach and put it all on the line for him. Have you heard of a player dispute with Des in the last 3 years? I haven't.
 
I've been told he's taken over the defensive coaching. If that's correct then I think he's going great. Our defensive strategies are what's winning us these games, as our 'star studded' backline isn't firing on all cylinders yet. I've noticed bickering in other teams, notably cowgirls, dogs, tigers and cronulla when they get behind. Not our go apparently.
 
I have to say I have changed my opinion of him so far, a lot like King, I still don't understand the Halden thing though, but it's working.

As long as "losing is not an option" type articles are never seen again I should be happy.
