School kids these days don't seem to have a very good throwing aim. No up and coming dart champs in that lot.

I know right. Im more concerned with the mum who gives a kid a salami sanga that seems like a beating waiting to happen

And contrary to what some would think because it was salami - there is no way it was thrown by any of the kids of European extraction, no self respecting Italian (or any other continental european) mama would put just one piece of salami on her beloved child's sandwich.
