If BOZO is actually legitimately trying to help manly he will sign DWZ if he is released.

DWZ has already been granted permission to negotiate with other clubs, the Panthers CEO said so in his pre Grand Final media comments during last week - all about keeping under the salary cap. Think there are 3 teams interested and Manly was one.

Let's hope we land him, he would be the ideal Matai replacement and if it's between us and Knights Surley he'd go with us unless he wants the 1 jersey.

He may want to play with Buhrer!
I think he would prefer to play with the big boy Kapow !!!

depends what the price is, he may get better offers elsewhere.

He is only a winger so we wont be paying half a million or more

for half a mil, I'd make a comeback at 55. Bit of training I could run faster than Snake with crutches, after 2 weeks I could change codes and go do lawn bowls @:D

The price of wingers is slowly going up, with just about every attacking play being directed their way in defence, and being on the end of most of their own attacking plays, it is becoming a "specialised position. Also given the importance placed on winning the ruck from a kick return, exceptional players like radradradradrdardar have lifted the bar. (Granted not to the half million mark)

Sharks have a **** tin of players off contract end of '17. Bird, Holmes, Feki, Barber, Beale, Graham, Prior, Townsend... we should be throwing some serious coin at Bird/Holmes

I generally agree that Props win premierships. But teams being pretty even these days, it is the quality or star outside backs which seems to becoming more and more crucial. We have the foundations, we need the polish out wider.

Bird will be the target, and I dont mean the Titan turkey. I understand that he has a good relationship with Barrett

Hope you're right. Although Newcastle are looking to get Holmes on a big deal and make him a perm fullback... That may give Sharks enough coin to keep Bird... Dare say they will let Beale go without too much of a fight.

I think we should build towards this backline for 2018/19 when we will be more of a premiership threat.

1: T Trbojevic
2: J Taufua
3: D Walker
4: D Watene-Zelezniak
5: B Parker (would be nice to see him kick on)
6: J Bird
7: D Cherry-Evans

The problem we have is that sides like StG have come out and said they are willing to throw HUGE coin at the Turbo bros. Unless they are willing to take unders, it puts us in a tough position to stay competitive. Before this year, I think Cronk was like on 650-700k. Hence why Melb were able to keep the big 3 together so long..if the turbos get say 800 each from '17 onwards (I don't think Jake commands that much but that is what StG are reportingly going to throw at him/1.2 for TT) we will have so much of the cap dedicated to DCE and the Turbos... If we are to get J Bird I assume he will cost 600+ min

Bozo just loves all Birds. Feathered ones, Male ones, Tough ones, Greg ones and especially the Jack type. Just remember contracts don't always get signed the same year the player is off contract.

Some if not most of our newbies for next year probably signed 12 months earlier.

Walker and Kapow did.
