its pretty obvious why no new signings have been annouced, the club is putting all their eggs in one basket hoping to change dce or forans mind, after the change your mind deadlline they will will negotiate with what ever chaff is left or simply wait till 2016, 2016 might be even harder to watch than this year

Darcy Lussick mid season move to Manly or Sharks before June 30
Don't know why there is a fuss meaning made over Lussick? Was average at Manly and has been poor at the Eels. Yeah, might be aggressive but makes no impact when he hits the line, or is a big meter gainer, can't tackle, has poor hands and is a dumb player. Wouldn't put him in the top 30 props in nrl.

Nate Myles Warriors why? they have so many forwards lol

From SMH

The New Zealand Warriors' spending spree is far from over as the club makes an audacious bid to recruit Kangaroos forward Nate Myles.

The Warriors are building towards one of the strongest NRL rosters for 2016 after signing Kiwi internationals Issac Luke and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. Not content with having three-quarters of the New Zealand Test spine, the club is also looking to further strengthen a back row, which already consists of Kiwi captain Simon Mannering and NSW veteran Ryan Hoffman.

Several clubs, including incumbent club Gold Coast and Penrith, are in the mix to sign Myles, who is off contract at the end of the season. The Queensland representative's most likely destination is Manly, as he has a three-year deal on the table worth approximately $1.5 million.

The Titans want to retain him but don't want to trigger an option in their favour because they feel they would be paying overs for a veteran in the back end of his career. Instead, they have tabled a $350,000 per season offer, which will all but guarantee Myles will be on the move.

While the Sea Eagles are hopeful of getting the deal done this week, the Warriors are a dark horse after coming in with a late and lucrative offer of their own. The trans-Tasman outfit has made it clear they are after another representative back rower after missing out on North Queensland's Jason Taumololo and St George Illawarra's Trent Merrin.

While Luke and "RTS" are on big money, the release of Sam Tomkins to Wigan on compassionate grounds freed up the best part of a million dollars for next year. Speaking to reporters after pulling off the Luke coup, Warriors chief executive Jim Doyle said the club wasn't ready to put away the chequebook.

"With Sam [leaving], there was no real salary cap change there at all," Doyle said.

"We were after the Kieran Forans and Jason Taumololos of the world, we had money to do that. Obviously now we have Isaac but that still gives us a bit of breathing space and we will look at our roster going forward and make sure we are always in the cap."

While rivals are questioning how the Warriors could continue to splash the cash following the recruitment of Luke and Tuivasa-Sheck, there is still room to accommodate another big name. It's understood the club was about $700,000 under the cap last year and will create further space with the departure of former international prop Sam Rapira to the Super League. Having gained Luke due to his desire to be close to family, Doyle indicated he is likely to grant a release to pivot Chad Townsend, who is being courted by his former club Cronulla, on compassionate grounds.

"Chad has said he wants to go back for family reasons and we're working with his manager and Chad and there's a good possibility that now we've got Issac we wouldn't be going backwards if we lost him, so we'll probably let him go," Doyle said.

There could be other contracted players on the move as well. The arrival of Tuivasa-Sheck has clouded the career path of promising fullback Bradley Abbey, who is being courted by Canterbury, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Penrith. Although he is on the books for 2016, the Warriors would likely grant a request should Abbey seek one.

Complicating issues for Myles is the fact he is great mates with Titans signing Daly Cherry-Evans, who can renege on the deal and remain with Manly until round 13. However, Myles, who is being pursued by both clubs, could be tempted to head across the ditch given the quality of the roster being assembled at the Warriors.

Given his form in the test and after yesterday's performance against the Raiders I'm not to fussed if we miss out on Myles at all.

Agree. We need forwards who are coming into their prime, not ones who are well past theirs.
I guess the incentive for Myles to come to the peninsula is the area's quality of aged care accommodation.

The northern beaches have a lot going for them but a surfeit of age care facilities is'nt one of them. Since my Mum retired she had to move four times because facilities have closed down in Manly, Narrabeen (twice) and Collaroy. A spot under Narrabeen bridge would be Myles best option but he better be quick.

I think this is a non story. I doubt his missus would want to move there. Can't imagine it would be great for her acting career

JAMAL Idris may have played his last game for Penrith.

The former Test and Origin superstar has been approached by rival NRL clubs and the Sunday Telegraph understands the Panthers are amenable to granting Idris an early release from his contract, which expires at the end of 2016.

Idris suffered a ruptured ACL injury last month, ruling him out for the season.

The 24-year-old is undergoing rehabilitation following his knee reconstruction.

He has also battled alcohol issues and depression, which has hindered his ability to fulfil has massive potential on the field.

Penrith have rising stars Waqa Blake, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and George Jennings in their squad, so can adequately cover the centre position that Idris occupies.

Idris takes up a significant amount of Penrith’s salary cap, and should the club consider releasing him early, it will free them up to retain off-contract stars or poach other players.

Penrith’s general manager, Phil Gould, could not be reached for comment on Saturday.

Idris joined Penrith from the Gold Coast with much fanfare last year.

Early in the season, he was stood down from the club to deal with his personal problems.

Following a stint in a rehabilitation program, Idris bounced back to fight his way back into first grade and finish the season strongly.

At the start of this year, Idris underwent spinal surgery, removing veterbra and fixing nerve damage in his back.

He returned to the field but in the round six clash against Manly on April 11, Idris tore the anterior cruciate ligament on his knee, an injury that requires full reconstruction and generally sidelines players for the entire season.

On his day, Idris can win games single-handedly, which is why he was chosen to play for NSW in 2010 and Australia in 2011.

Idris won the 2009 Dally M rookie of the year while he was at the Bulldogs and was touted as a better prospect than Israel Folau.

The Panthers shocked the competition last year by making the semi-finals, but they have made an average start to 2015, winning just four of nine games.
