Plenty of talk of our young players with potential and this big bloke often is left out of the conversation....big and aggressive, will Des give this bloke a shot in 2021 and could he maybe grab a bench spot soon ??

Zac Saddler to play in All Stars match

Young Manly Warringah Sea Eagles prop Zac Saddler has been called into the Indigenous All Stars squad for the NRL Harvey Norman All Stars in Townsville on Saturday, February 20.
It will be the second consecutive season that Saddler has played for the Indigenous All Stars after lining up for Coach Laurie Daley in last year’s match on the Gold Coast.

Talented young Manly half Cade Cust will join Saddler in the Indigenous team with the pair lining up against their fellow Sea Eagles team-mate Dylan Walker.
Walker had a strong game for the Maori All Stars side in their win last year.

A proud Wiradjuri man, Saddler joined Manly midway through the 2019 season after previously working with Sea Eagles Coach Des Hasler and Recruitment Manager Noel Cleal at the Canterbury Bulldogs.
After spending the rest of the season in Manly’s U20s team, Saddler earned a development contract for 2020. He remains a Manly development player in season 2021.
Saddler got a small taste of the NRL in 2020 when he played for Manly in the Nines tournament in Perth before playing in the All Stars match.

Hopefully he'll turn a few heads....

patiently waits to see if anyone gets the reference....

A fair few of us Silvertails have been watching and waiting to see if this kid makes the grade .. certainly has the size and aggression ... excited to see how he goes ..

Will be well short of a run after no footy last year ...

Still very young for a forward - keen to see how he aims up in this game coming up

@maxta to answer your question .. injuries will play a big part .. along with his form in reggies ...

Last year we had the best season for lack of injuries to forwards in the history of sport ... (all our big injuries were to backs) .. so Guacamole and Saddler had few opportunities, but I thought both would have been a better option than the under-done GoJetSki ...

With only 20 games played last year ..

Jake .. 20
Siro .. 18
Keppie ..19
Paseka .. 18
Marty .. 18
AFB .. 15 (suspended)
Thommo ... 14 (injured)

Boyle and Gojetski made up the numbers ..

Unlikely to unseat Marty, Aloiai, Paseka or Keppie. Only chance is if we run a 5 prop rotation and that will mean Olakau'atu or Davey misses out. Think he'll be fighting with Boyle and Sipley for injury cover.

Just 1 thing on that Woodsie....Jetski was ordinary bar the odd try in 2020, but he looks to have really added muscle to his frame for 2021 and certainly not to make ecuses, as I agree others should have been way before him last year, but many dont know, he got real sick snd lost a heap of weight last year....so very, very underdone....happy to see what he brings fully fit, but if Guocomole doesn't get a real look in, I'll be filthy and we just might see him poached by another NRL side who can see a potential gun.

Agree .. towards the end of last season GoJetSki started to put a bit of condition back on, and should have a better year ... but even at his best I still think he is a bench player ...

Big chance I reckon.

If he plays well enough Des can’t leave him out. It’s up to him and the off season is the time to put it in and set a platform for a breakout.
