So let's start a conversation on sucess or money. Players at the top level of sport are a different beast sometimes. Money means a lot but so does winning.

Who do you guys and gals think will stay for the chance of a glory run and who will chase the cash at other clubs?

IMHO the established guys already on BIG money and relatively rookie juniors are more likely to stay for glory or loyalty and pride, than "more money".

There are also guys like Walker who may feel more comfortable in their surroundings and future here than chasing extra bucks for a relatively unknown period with a "maybe" kind of future. That is if they have sharp people advising them.

Smart and/or well-advised players who are not in the "marquee player" leagues, and even some of those who are, are best off being where they want to and do belong.

It's a tough one. Look at the turbos. Making around a million each you would have to think they would want at least 40% more money to even think about going to a rebuilding club like the dogs where sucess could never come.
Teams like the roosters or Broncos wont go for them so only really leaves teams at the bottom which would outlay huge money.
Marty looks pretty happy under des and given he hasn't won anything I could only see him going to the chooks perhaps.
AFB a harder nut to guess. Will probably demand top dollar within 24 months so could be a jumper.
Walker wouldn't have too many top teams in the market?
DCE wont go anywhere.
Garrick could be hard to keep next time round.
Finau will be hard to keep long term if we have the turbos and DCE on big money. I could see this kid being worth 700k at least.
Tafua looks as loyal as an old dog so not going nowhere.
Sironen may jump back to tigers if they offer good money to complete a family ledgend. Hes going really well under the guidance of Des. Career best form.
It will be an interesting 3 or 4 years in the making.

Success now means the player gets big monies when he starts to fade. The smart player realizes that and goes to Clubs that win premierships

More importantly, will the NRL step in and deny our contract offers in the same way they did when we were forced to let Gifty go?

Such an action could easily make this something of a moot point..

Only about 10% of players are in the category and priveledge of having to make those choices .... and the human condition is such that both extremes exist ....
