What makes thunder. It is lightening but how does it create a noise?

Looks like you attempted a hijack but anyhow, the heat from the lightening bolt heats the surrounding air 5 times hotter than the sun. The air expands rapidly breaking the sound barrier and causing a sonic boom. Similar to that of an aircraft that breaks the sound barrier.
