After 2 losses - Barrett and the players had an HONESTY talk.....
Since then - it's 3 straight wins and 3 x 80 quality minute efforts.
Usually these crisis meetings work for 1 game, but this is the biggest turn around I have seen as a Manly supporter in over 35 years .......

It would be interesting to know, because it's worked. To me they look like a team that is eliminating excuses. Marty and AFB not playing v cows.....tough, fight on. Penalty goes against us...tough fight on.

The great manly teams always seemed to use adversity as a spur. And it was De$s greatest skill, he could harness the us v the world effectively (seems easy but not all coaches can do this). Whereas in recent years bad decisions cause us to drop heads.

More likely the Bozo v Timbo incident had Penn assert his authority and everyone was told to stick to their own allocated scope of work.

Baz is finally left alone to do his thing.

Tim Clearly and Bozos blue seems a little too coincidental. All's I know is putting Bozos daughter on her bike was the best thing the club has done in a long long time. Tim Clearly genius.

Captain DCE did say in one of those talks that they got together and discussed what is was to be a Manly player. Some of the longer term ones could pass one what it meant to them, etc.

I'd suggest this (plus other gabs) helped build a bit of a team culture.

I'm not privy to anything, just looking at the dynamics of the Franchise and I felt that the clique were running amok.😎

Scott Penn's control was being undermined by his 'family' and their mates.

It's a results driven business, so he had to reign in the factions and concentrate on the footy results. Then merchandise, Sponsorship and recruitment of star players will naturally follow.

Hopefully that piece of turd at the helm of the NRL, will be convinced by the legal minds to rubber stamp the medical retirement of Snake and Matai and Manly will get to play with a full quota

I really think he's just simplified the game plan ( around defence) and it frustrates the hell out of our opposition, and when that happens opportunities arise and once that happens confidence increases and " wham bam thank you ma'am "
